State Police responded to a report of “shots fired” in the village of New Berlin. An investigation determined that 39 year old Joseph Avery of New Berlin, discharged a gun unsafely within the village limits with the alleged intention of intimidating a person. Avery was located and was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Reckless Endangerment, Stalking, Prohibited Use of a Weapon, Avery was processed and transported to the Chenango County Correctional Facility for Arraignment.

1 man was dead, another 1 was wounded & the shooter was taken into custody, after Binghamton Police responded to the report of a shooting at 1 Mozart Street in the city yesterday at about 11:30 AM. Binghamton Police Chief Joseph Zikuski said that officers found 1 victim dead and another man shot in the arm, they recovered a long gun believed to have been used in the shooting, he said. The surviving victim might lose his arm. Chief Zikuski said 2 people who know the deceased victim parked a vehicle in front of the Mozart Street residence, knocked on the door, and the gun was fired. The investigation is ongoing.
Following the investigation into a disabled vehicle on August 13th, in the village of Delhi. Deputies arrested 37-year-old Robert Avery of Utica On 1 count of Criminal Possession of Stolen property. Avery is accused of being in possession of a vehicle that was reported stolen in Utica August 7th, he was arraigned in Village of Delhi Court and sent to Delaware County Jail on $3000 cash or $6000 property bond bail.
