Binghamton Police arrested 3 people in connection with a report of shots fired Monday, During an execution of a search warrant of an apartment at 100 Susquehanna Street, detectives seized a 9mm handgun & cocaine. Binghamton Police arrested 44 year old Sacreama Thompson, 19 year old Tyseem Smith-Nimmons & 18 year old Naziah Roas, all of Binghamton on a variety of drug & weapons charges & tampering with evidence.

State Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a 2019 or newer white Volvo semi-truck with damage to the front passenger side. Police said that 40 year old John Viviano of Sidney was pronounced dead at the scene, State Police at Troop E investigated the fatal car-pedestrian crash that occurred on I-86 near exit 38 in the village of Bath, Police beleive that a westbound vehicle on I-86 struck Viviano between Friday night & Saturday Morning, The vehicle did not stop, and State Police is requesting the public’s assistance to identify the vehicle, which may have significant front-end damage. The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force arrested 3 people last Wednesday in a major drug bust in Binghamton. arrested were 39-year-old Rayshawn Thompson, 38-year-old Derrick Brooks and 39-year-old Brandy Myers were charged with multiple felonies after the Task Force officers executed a search warrant at 24 Robinson Street. Officer seized a loaded handgun, fentanyl, Methamphetamine, cocaine, Suboxone Strips & $4,500 in suspected drug proceeds, packaging materials, all 3 were transported to the Binghamton Police Department, and were processed & were being held on various felony weapon & drug charges.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a reported 2 car motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Thompson Hollow Road and Jensen Road in the Town of Middletown Monday. Initial reports stated that 1 vehicle was on fire and the 2nd vehicle contained an entrapped person within. 2 good Samaritans heard the collision and went to the scene, they were able to extinguish the fire and provide first aid to both drivers until the arrival of first responders. 41 year old John Todd of Roxbury, was pronounced deceased at the scene, 65 year old Daniel Plummer of East Branch was extricated, he was airlifted to Albany Medical Center by Life Net and is currently in critical condition. The Sheriff’s Accident Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene to investigate the cause of the accident,

The Friends of Afton announced the return of Afton’s Annual Christmas Parade, scheduled for Saturday December 4th at 5:00 pm. Floats and vehicles will line up at Corporate Park off Route 7, Walking groups, bicycles, and golf carts will gather at the Afton Edge Apartments.

Yesterday was Election Day, The Delaware County Board of Elections did not announce a winner for the Sidney Town Supervisor’s race, between write-in candidates Eric Wilson & Kevin Greene, Officials told WCDO News it will take days or maybe even weeks to count & certify all of the write in votes across all 19 towns from this year's elections, there were 552 write in Votes Tuesday in Sidney Town Supervisors race. The winners for the Sidney Town board were Frank Selleck & Bill Heath, in the Town of Meredith, Town Council winners were John Janiszewski & David Briggs, the Town of Franklin Board seats go to Garret Sitts & Heather Ross, the town of Middletown Supervisor Will be Patrick Davis, the Town of Tompkins Clerk was Michelle Phoenix, in the Town Of Delhi, the supervisor will be Mark Tuttle, the Town Council winners were Margaret Baldwin & Matthew Kryston & the Walton Town Supervisor will be Joseph Cetta. In Chenango County, Sheriff Ernest Cutting was re-elected, The County Clerk winner is Brian Wessels, & the winners for the Norwich City Council are Fred Gee, William Loomis, Tom Revoir & Barry Christopherson. The winners for the Guilford Town Board were Thomas Ives & Matthew Retz, in Otsego County, the Board of Representatives winners were Ed Frazier, Jerry Madsen, Rick Brockway, Margaret Kennedy, Jennifer Mickle, Charles Varney, Keith McCarty, Clark Oliver & Donald Scanlon & the Town of Oneonta Supervisor will be Randall Mowers, while Karen Liddle & Sean Farrell Won the 2 Town of Oneonta Justice seats & Kimberly Fierke & Skylar Thompson Win the 2 Seats on the Oneonta Town Board. The town of Hartwick Supervisor will be Robert O’Brien while Christopher Briggs & Bruce Markussen win the seats on the Town Board. In the Town of Unadilla, the Town Justice winner is Joshua Palmer The Unadilla Town Clerk will be Terry Yoder & the Town Council winners were Ron Reed & Jessica Grow, in the town of Laurens, George Decker, Edwin Winslow were the winners of Town Board Seats. Across New York State, voters rejected the propositions, amending the apportionment and redistricting process, eliminating the 10 day advance voter registration requirement, & authorizing the no excuse absentee balloting. Voters approved the proposition to the Right to clean air, clean water and a healthy environment.

The Otsego County District Attorney’s office announced that
Gabriel Truitt has been indicted for 1st & 2nd degree murder & 1st
degree Arson in connection with the fire at 5 Walling Avenue in Oneonta last
December that killed former Oneonta fire fighter John Heller.  Truitt’s brother, Terrence was previously
charged in the case, he was released after 5 weeks into the investigation due
to a lack of evidence against him.
Gabriel Truitt is still at large; The Oneonta Police Department is
issuing a warrant for his arrest.

Police
in upstate New York are warning of a dangerous fentanyl-laced marijuana
combination that was recently confiscated in the Sullivan County town of
Thompson.  It was the first time fentanyl
was found in marijuana in the area, & In a separate incident on Thursday,
the Albany County Sheriff’s department reported that 1st responders revived 3
people who had overdosed in a car in the middle of a road. Another driver came
upon the car in the town of Knox and called 911.

Cooperstown
Police reported that 75 year old John Smirk of Cooperstown drove down Fair
Street Thursday night, and drove off the boat ramp into Otsego Lake.  Cooperstown Police & Otsego County
Sheriff’s deputies responded, removed Smirk from his vehicle; the cause of
Smirk’s death is still under investigation.

Tomorrow is Election Day, and beyond the Presidential race, there are races of local importance in the Tri County Area. The U.S. SENATE SEAT for New York features incumbent Democrat Charles Schumer against vs. Republican Wendy Long.

In the House of Representatives 19th Congressional District Race to replace Chris Gibson, Republican John Faso is against Democrat Zephyr Teachout.

In the 22nd congressional district Race To Replace Richard Hanna, a three way battle exists between Republican Claudia Tenney, Democrat Kim Meyers & 3rd party Candidate Martin Babinec.

In Local Assembly Races: in the121 Assembly district: Republican John Salka will again try to unseat incumbent Democrat Bill Magee.

122nd Assembly District, Republican Cliff Crouch is unopposed.

102nd District, Republican incumbent Pete Lopez is unopposed.

On Friday, The Broome County Sheriff’s department responded to a Motel in the town of Dickinson following a call for a medical emergency of a patient who stopped breathing an adjacent room. Deputies found 30 year old Brett Seymour unresponsive, administered Narcan, eventually EMS responded & declared that Seymour was deceased. In the room, Police found crack, cocaine, heroin; they arrested Rayshawn Thompson of Binghamton, Nicole Mills of Windsor, & Tessa Rivera of Elmira on a variety of charges. The Broome County Sheriff’s department has set up a tip line at 778-1196.

6 individuals will be inducted into the General Clinton Canoe Regatta Hall of Fame this year, during the 54th annual Regatta, The paddlers being inducted are Armond Bassett, Bob Allen, Jim Jordan & Al Rudquist & the "Pit Crew" inductees are Dale Fox & Dean Oliver, both of Bainbridge. Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a personal injury head-on collision Tuesday involving a tractor trailer and a car on State Highway 10 in the Town of Delhi, just south of Peakes Brook Road. The tractor trailer driver, 30 year old Michael Thompson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania attempted to pull into a parking lot when he struck a car being driven by 56 year old Tammie Wycoff of Grand Gorge. Wycoff and her passenger were transported to O’Connor Hospital with minor injuries and were later released. Thompson was issued a traffic summons for moving from lane unsafely, he faces court action in Town of Delhi Court on April 25th.

57 year old John Guzy of Bainbridge was found guilty of 15 of 17 counts including 2nd degree murder, attempted murder in Chenango County Court Wednesday, by Judge Frank Revoir.  Guzy was found guilty of shooting and killing 26-year-old Derek Prindle of Afton, in October 2014 on route 7 in Bainbridge.  Guzy also shot & wounded Prindle’s father during a confrontation following a road rage incident that ended in front of Peak Fitness.

Harmon said that they are expecting another large group of people participating in races throughout the Memorial day weekend, and they are also expecting big crowds at general Clinton park for the midway rides, games, vendors, musical acts, entertainment and food this year.

Governor Cuomo today announced that Luke Bryan will be among several top entertainers to perform at the Great New York State Fair this summer. Bryan will perform Thursday, August 29th with opening act Thompson Square.  Other State Fair acts at the Grandstand will include Toby Keith on Friday, August 23rd, Carly Rae Jepsen & Hot Chelle Rae on Saturday, August 24th, Reba McIntyre on Sunday, August 25th, Lynyrd Skynyrd on Monday, August 26th and Comedian Jeff Dunham on Tuesday, August 27th.  Tickets for Reba McIntyre and Carly Rae Jepsen go on sale at 9:00 AM Saturday, May 11th.
