Binghamton Police Metro SWAT team arrested 6 people on drug & weapons charges with 3 different raids since Thursday. On Thursday, Joshua Milton & Stephanie Nelson were arrested, the Metro SWAT Team raided 10 Holland Street and seized a loaded handgun, methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl, on Friday, the Broome County Special Investigations Unit conducted a raid at 118 Liberty Street in Binghamton uncovered cocaine, fentanyl and over $2,500 in suspected drug proceeds, John Reed and Danielle Mensah were both arrested. Monday morning, the Metro SWAT Team searched 14 Isbell Street, and located handguns & body armor, Tasheem Scott and a juvenile 17-year-old female were arrested and transported to the Binghamton Police Department.

The Friends of Afton announced the return of Afton’s Annual Christmas Parade, scheduled for Saturday December 4th at 5:00 pm. Floats and vehicles will line up at Corporate Park off Route 7, Walking groups, bicycles, and golf carts will gather at the Afton Edge Apartments.

Yesterday was Election Day, The Delaware County Board of Elections did not announce a winner for the Sidney Town Supervisor’s race, between write-in candidates Eric Wilson & Kevin Greene, Officials told WCDO News it will take days or maybe even weeks to count & certify all of the write in votes across all 19 towns from this year's elections, there were 552 write in Votes Tuesday in Sidney Town Supervisors race. The winners for the Sidney Town board were Frank Selleck & Bill Heath, in the Town of Meredith, Town Council winners were John Janiszewski & David Briggs, the Town of Franklin Board seats go to Garret Sitts & Heather Ross, the town of Middletown Supervisor Will be Patrick Davis, the Town of Tompkins Clerk was Michelle Phoenix, in the Town Of Delhi, the supervisor will be Mark Tuttle, the Town Council winners were Margaret Baldwin & Matthew Kryston & the Walton Town Supervisor will be Joseph Cetta. In Chenango County, Sheriff Ernest Cutting was re-elected, The County Clerk winner is Brian Wessels, & the winners for the Norwich City Council are Fred Gee, William Loomis, Tom Revoir & Barry Christopherson. The winners for the Guilford Town Board were Thomas Ives & Matthew Retz, in Otsego County, the Board of Representatives winners were Ed Frazier, Jerry Madsen, Rick Brockway, Margaret Kennedy, Jennifer Mickle, Charles Varney, Keith McCarty, Clark Oliver & Donald Scanlon & the Town of Oneonta Supervisor will be Randall Mowers, while Karen Liddle & Sean Farrell Won the 2 Town of Oneonta Justice seats & Kimberly Fierke & Skylar Thompson Win the 2 Seats on the Oneonta Town Board. The town of Hartwick Supervisor will be Robert O’Brien while Christopher Briggs & Bruce Markussen win the seats on the Town Board. In the Town of Unadilla, the Town Justice winner is Joshua Palmer The Unadilla Town Clerk will be Terry Yoder & the Town Council winners were Ron Reed & Jessica Grow, in the town of Laurens, George Decker, Edwin Winslow were the winners of Town Board Seats. Across New York State, voters rejected the propositions, amending the apportionment and redistricting process, eliminating the 10 day advance voter registration requirement, & authorizing the no excuse absentee balloting. Voters approved the proposition to the Right to clean air, clean water and a healthy environment.

In Delaware County Elections of interest on Election day, in the Town of Meredith, 2 seats are open on the town board; the candidates are Democrat John Janiszewski, Democrat Michael Morgenfruh & Republican David Briggs. In the Town of FRANKLIN, there are 4 candidates for 2 seats on the town board; Garret Sitts, Heather Ross, George Coulter & John O'Connor. In the TOWN OF MIDDLETOWN, Democrat Todd Pascarella & Republican Patrick Davis are running for Town Supervisor. In the town of DELHI; 4 PEOPLE Running for 2 seats on the board, for FRANKLIN TOWN COUNCIL there are 4 Candidates for 2 seats and in Walton, Lillian Brown & Joseph Cetta are running for Town Supervisor.

In CHENANGO COUNTY elections tomorrow, residents are voting for Sheriff between incumbents Ernie Cutting & Democratic Challenger Debra Cubbedge. County voters will also vote for County Clerk between Republican Brian Wessels & Independent Leonard Smith, Norwich City Voters will be voting for Mayor, between Democrat John Quattrocchi & Republican Brian Doliver, there are races for Alderman positions in wards 2 & 4. there are 3 candidates running for 2 seat on the Guilford Town Board between Republican Thomas Ives, Republican Matthew Retz & Libertarian Jennifer Caci

Voters in OTSEGO COUNTY have races for the County Board of Representatives in Districts 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11 & 13; there is a race for Oneonta Mayor between 2 Common Council members: Mark Drnek & Len Carson. In the town of Oneonta, in the Supervisors’ race, Randal Mowers faces Teresa DeSantis, there are 4 people running for 2 town justice positions & 3 people are running for 2 seats on the Town Board. In the Town of Hartwick Supervisor's Race, candidates are Bryan LoRusso & Robert O'Brien & there are 5 candidates for 2 seats on the town council. In Unadilla, Dwight Mott & Joshua Palmer are running for Town Justice, Terry Yoder & Kelly Moore are running for the Unadilla Town Clerk's Position & for the Unadilla Town Council, BARBARA NOLAN, RON REED, JESSICA GROW, & Write In Candidate Sheri Kinsella are running for 2 Seats. Binghamton police have identified the body found Sunday along the Susquehanna River, as 72-year-old Susan Wayman of Binghamton & formerly from Sidney. Wayman was reported missing about a month ago, the death has been ruled non-criminal; Wayman was identified following an autopsy, she graduated froom Sidney High School in 1965.

Delhi Police stopped a motor vehicle for speeding Saturday on Meredith Street, Police discovered that the occupants of the vehicle were in possession of marihuana, counterfeit money and suspected stolen property. Arrested were 20-year-old Maleik Garland of Queens, 22-year-old Chadwade Chambers, 26-year-old Michael Stevens Jr. & 22-year-old Taijih Bryant, all of Brooklyn, all 4 were arraigned, Garland was being held in the Delaware County jail pending future court action, the others were released on appearance tickets.

The Otsego County Sheriff’s department is investigating the death of a man found in a barn near Emmons that Oneonta Fire fighters responded to Monday night. The unidentified man was found in a barn at 130 Riverstone Road, where a fully-involved barn fire was reported at about 11:20 pm Monday Night. Firefighters from Schenevus, Milford and Pindars Corners assisted the Oneonta Fire department. An autopsy has been ordered & the investigation is ongoing, and Susquehanna SPCA took a dog and four horses to the shelter from the property.

Governor Cuomo today announced that up to $5 million in 2nd round census funding will be made available to nonprofits that are participating in the State Complete Count Census campaign. The funding will help fund nonprofits in their efforts to reach at-risk and hard-to-count communities and ensure they are counted during the 2020 Census. Applications may be submitted for a 30 day period that ends on March 26; nonprofits can apply for pre-qualification ny.gov/2020-census.

The Green Light Law allows illegal immigrants the right to obtain driver's licenses, it has raised Homeland Security concerns due to it blocking law enforcement's ability to view DMV files and the records of illegal immigrants who have broken the law, which is preventing Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Protection to conduct investigations.

officials for a summit on how to keep the Rumble Ponies in Binghamton Monday.
MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred wanted to eliminate more than 40 minor league
teams, including the Rumble Ponies. Schumer & Brindisi have urged Major
League Baseball to follow-up on a promise made to provide the team with a list
of needed improvements for their stadium.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of a domestic dispute in Andes Monday. 21 year old Joel Maldonado of Lydenhurst, New Jersey & 21 year old Preston Reed of Andes fell through a plate glass window during the altercation, Maldonado sustained a head laceration, he was taken to O’Connor Hospital in Delhi, where he was treated and released. Deputies determined that 2 small children were in close proximity to the altercation, Maldonado was charged with 2 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Criminal Mischief, he was arraigned & was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility on $1,000 dollars cash bail, Reed was charged with 2 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

On Monday, July 25, 2016 Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 28-year-old John Mahler on a Parole Warrant issued by the State Division of Parole. Mahler was convicted in 2013 of committing burglaries in the Village of Walton; he was paroled in March, & was subject to Post Release Supervision until March 2019. Mahler is being held in the Delaware County Correctional Facility pending further action by the Division of Parole.

State Senator Jim Seward & Assemblyman Cliff Crouch have both commented against New York State Education Commissioner Dr. John King’s  decision to cancel public forums on the implementation of the ‘Common Core’ learning platform and new state testing assessments.  Crouch said that he hosted an Education Summit at Chenango Valley High School that featured a panel of administration and education professionals and the topics of discussion included the Annual Professional Performance Reviews, Common Core, state testing, and how unfunded mandates take the focus off  of educating students.

Jury selection is completed for the murder trial of a Virginia man charged with killing the Clymer School District Superintendent Keith Reed Jr.  Anthony Taglianetti is charged with 2nd degree murder for the fatal shooting of Reed, who previously served as a principal at the Sherburne Earlville school district.   Taglianetti is accused of driving to Clymer, New York in September 2012 and shooting Reed outside his home, he was arrested in Virginia a week after the shooting.
