Unofficial results were released today regarding Tuesday's Primary Elections. In the Delaware County Republican Primary for the Treasurer's race, Carli Pinner defeated Ronda Williams with 56% of the vote, in the Town of Colchester, Robert Hafele will be the Republican candidate for Colchester Town Supervisor, David Rubera win the nomination in the Hancock town Supervisors race, James Ellis wins the nod in the Meredith Town Supervisors race, In the town of Sidney Board race, the nominees will be Frank Selleck & Andrew Hinkley, and for the Walton town board, the nominees will be Luis Rodriguez-Betancourt and Kevin Armstrong. In Chenango County, Ronald Sherman & Joel Lawrence won the Republican Party Nomination for Afton Town Board.

State Police arrested 32 year old Jason Hubbell of Cooperstown, for 2nd degree Burglary, Criminal Mischief and Resisting Arrest. Troopers were dispatched to a report of a domestic dispute in Roseboom, Hubbell allegedly kicked in the front door of a residence, broke a secondary door then drove his vehicle into the victim’s vehicle before leaving the area. Troopers were able to locate Hubbell in Middlefield where he resisted arrest. Hubbell was ultimately taken into custody and later transported to the Otsego County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.

Delaware County Sheriff's Office announced that State Route 206, between the Village of Walton and Lower Third Brook Road, was closed to traffic for several hours Tuesday morning as a result of a tractor trailer accident. At approximately 9:30 am., Tuesday morning, Deputies, members of the Walton Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Squad and State DOT workers responded, the driver, 59 year-old Rogelio Rodriguez, of Decatur, Indiana, was driving an empty milk tanker when he momentarily took his eyes off the road causing the truck to strike the guide cables and a tree. Rodriquez was not injured in the collision.
Otsego County is currently at a SUBSTANTIAL level of community transmission, and is on the verge of becoming HIGH level of community transmission. CDC & Otsego County Department of Health recommends everyone to wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission, to maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others. This week there have been several cases of individuals having a repeat COVID-19 infection. This occurs when someone is infected with COVID-19 and 90 or more days later tests positive again for COVID-19. These repeat infections are mostly occurring in unvaccinated individuals. This reinforces that immunity from natural infection diminishes after 90 days. It is important if you have had COVID-19 and are not vaccinated please consider getting vaccinated to prevent a reinfection. In Otsego County. there are 82 active cases, 19 new cases reported today, with 5 hospitalized, there have been 2614 total cases in 2021.

Broome County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal motorcycle crash Tuesday night in West Corners at Glendale Drive & Campville Road at 11:44 pm. 42-year-old Jason Krissel of the Town of Union was ejected off of his motorcycle & was pronounced dead, Krissel applied the brakes aggressively at the intersection, after traveling at a high rate of speed. The investigation is continuing.

State Police at Deposit arrested 22 year old Mark Rodriguez of Jersey City, New Jersey for Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Reckless Endangerment & Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle. Rodriguez was arrested after he led troopers on a pursuit through several different jurisdictions, with 2 female occupants in the vehicle, including a 16-year-old. Rodriguez was arraigned in the village of Hancock Court where he was remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $7,000 cash bail or $15,000 bond.

Broome County Executive Jason Garnar announced that they have submitted their Shared Services Initiative Plan to the Broome County Legislature. The plan was initiated earlier this year when Governor Cuomo called on municipalities to share services to lower property taxes, if approved, this plan has the potential to save Broome County over $20 Million Dollars. State Police arrested 3 individuals after a traffic stop on State Route 41 in the town of Afton Sunday. Charged were 24 year old Cecily Choi of New Jersey, 20 year old Adrian Beall of Texas & 37 year old Jason Rodriguez of Brooklyn. All 3 subjects are accused of possessing numerous narcotics & marihuana, they were charged with 3 counts each of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal use of Drug paraphernalia, Rodriguez was also charged with the misdemeanor of Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired by Drugs. They were arraigned in the Town of Afton court and remanded to the Chenango County jail without bail.
