20-year-old Jamie Bailey of Binghamton was arrested following a traffic stop in Johnson City Wednesday. Officers located the vehicle that was considered suspicious, they found that the registration was suspended. While attempting to remove the license plates from the vehicle, officers located Bailey fleeing from the scene. Bailey was apprehended, struggled with arresting officers, who found a loaded ghost gun & a handgun in Bailey’s possession. Bailey was charged with Criminal possession of a weapon, Resisting arrested & Obstructing Governmental administration, he was processed & was remanded to Broome County Jail.
Congressman Marc Molinaro announced that Norwich Police Chief Reuben Roach, has accepted his invitation to testify before a House Small Business Committee hearing. The hearing, titled 'Crime on the Rise: How Lawlessness is Impacting Main Street America,' will examine how crime and policies like Albany's bail reform law impact small businesses and the economy. The Broome County Sheriff's Department arrested 2 area men for several counts of Criminal possession of a weapon, after they posted a Facebook live stream Monday. 42 year old Nicholas Skiba of Johnson City and 23 year old Keith Hall of Chenango Forks were arrested, a handgun was seen in the live stream and Skiba was wearing Ballistic Body Armor, The Whitney Point & Chenango Forks schools were on lock out, along with Wilson Medical Center and Binghamton General Hospital. Sheriff's Deputies obtained a search Warrant for Skiba's cell Phone & Facebook page, they discovered the location of the 2 men at a residence on State Route 12 In Chenango Forks, they were taken into custody, Deputies seized 5 handguns, 4 rifles 3 shotguns 2 black powder pistols and large capacity magazines, the investigation is ongoing.

A special Election Day will be held tomorrow, starting at 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. A Special Election is being held locally to fill the 19th Congressional District, following the appointment of Antonio Delgado to Lieutenant Governor, the candidates are Republican Marcus Molinaro and Democrat Patrick Ryan, the winner will fill the position through the end of this year. Also, due to the state's redistricting issues earlier this year, there will be primaries for Congressional and State Senate seats, in the 51st State Senate District, incumbent Republican Peter Oberacker faces a primary challenge from Terry Bernardo, in the 52nd State Senate District, Lea Webb & Leslie Danks Burke are running for the Democratic party nomination. In the 19th Congressional District, the Democratic Party Primary candidates are Jamie Cheney & Josh Riley, the winner in that race will appear on the Ballot in November for the term starting January 1st 2023. A Town of Guilford resident was arrested by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office for Unlawfully Dealing With a Child 1st Degree. Deputies arrested 31-year-old Jamie Benham of Guilford for Unlawfully Dealing With a Child, for allegedly providing alcohol to a juvenile. Benham was issued an appearance ticket and is to appear in the Town of Guilford Court at a later date.
