State Police are attempting to locate 15 year old Sierra Foley of Sauquoit and 16 year old Paige Roberts of Marcy. Both teens were last seen together on the evening of October 21, 2025, at Sierra’s residence in Oneida County. They are believed to be traveling in an unknown vehicle, Police believe they may be traveling to New York City or Pennsylvania. Paige Roberts is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall, 150 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes, wearing gray sweatpants and a gray sweatshirt, Sierra Foley is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall, 110 pounds, with blonde hair and green eyes, wearing red sweatpants and a red sweatshirt. Anyone with information is asked to contact the State Police at 315-366-6000.
The New York State Department of Health today released a new report showing a continued decline in tobacco use among high school students across the state. The report, shows that 1 in 6 Youth Still Use Tobacco, the lowest since tracking began in 2000. Cigarette smoking remains low, with just over 2% of students reporting current use, E-cigarette use has declined sharply to about 13%, however, Nicotine pouch use is rising, doubling from 1.5% to 3.0% since 2022.

Governor Kathy Hochul & State Police Superintendent Steven James honored 238 new State Troopers as they graduated Wednesday from the 217th session of the Basic School of the New York State Police Academy. The ceremony was held at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany. Today’s graduation increases the State Police ranks to approximately 5,110 sworn members, about 60 of the new troopers were assigned to Troop C in Sidney.

Binghamton Police are investigating the fatal shooting of 41 year old Tyrell Norris in his apartment on the city's North Side Monday Night. Norris was wounded by a bullet that was fired during a dispute in the parking lot outside the Town and Country Apartments at 100 Roberts Street. Norris was taken to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City where he was pronounced dead. Police also found out that another man suffered a gunshot wound to a foot about a block away from the Norris shooting at 104 Liberty Street. Norris was "an uninvolved party" who was struck by gunfire while in his residence, anyone with information should call Binghamton police detective division at (607) 772-7080.
42 year old James English pleaded guilty to 2nd Murder today in Broome County Court. On June 6, 2023, English stabbed Jessica Picciano 31 times causing her death, English will be sentenced on January 7, 2025 where he is expected to receive 23-years-to- life-in State Prison.

The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force raided 41 Doubleday Street on Tuesday. Police seized Opioids, methamphetamine, suboxone strips, 5 long guns and 2 handguns, they arrested 47 year-old James Roberts on drug and weapons charges & 43 year-old Danielle Ashdown on weapons charges. Thursday, officers pulled over a vehicle with stolen plates in Binghamton and seized hydrocodone, ecstasy and a pair of handguns, 1 was reported stolen from Owego, they arrested 44 year-old Rondell Wright, 34 year-old Calvin Chambers, 24 year-old John Carter and 38 year-old Shauna Massey. On Thursday, officers raided 1 Lawton Avenue in Binghamton and seized meth, fentanyl and drug selling materials. Police arrested 39 year-old Robert Titus on drug charges.
Attorney General Letitia James announced that 340 firearms were turned in at a community gun buyback event hosted by her office and the Johnson City Police Department. Attorney General James' office held 9 gun buyback events statewide with more than 3,000 guns turned in, including 185 assault rifles, 1,656 handguns, and 823 long guns. In Johnson City, they received 25 assault rifles, 169 handguns, and 114 long guns.

A Binghamton man has been arrested for a shooting at the Clinton Hotel bar in the City of Binghamton early Saturday morning. Binghamton Police responded to a shooting at 20 Clinton Street, 1 victim had suffered a non life-threatening gunshot wound to his right leg. 39-year-old James Simpson was arrested a short time later, a loaded revolver was recovered. Simpson was charged with 1st degree assault & Criminal Possession of a Weapon. Simpson was arraigned in the City of Binghamton Court and taken to the Broome County Jail.
The State Office of General Services announced that the New York State observance of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would be held this morning at 9:30 in the Empire State Plaza Convention Center. Commissioner Samuel Roberts, of the State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, will present remarks during the Call to Commemoration portion of the program. The public is invited to attend the free program in celebration of the 88th anniversary of Dr. King’s birth.
