The Board of Trustees of Hartwick College announced today that they have selected Darren Reisberg, executive vice president and chief strategy officer at the Joyce Foundation, as the College’s 11th president, he will take office on August 1, replacing Dr. Margaret Drugovich, who announced her retirement earlier this after serving as Hartwick College President for 14 years.

Drugovich has led Hartwick College for 13 years, she received national news coverage for her program for an accelerated 3 Year Degree program; plus the development of 6 new undergraduate majors, a graduate-level program in Translational Biomedical Research Management, and soon, its Master of Science in Nursing Education and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Nursing Education and the development of Hartwick’s Center for Craft Food & Beverage program. The College’s Board of Trustees has initiated a formal search to choose Hartwick’s 11th president.

Hartwick College announced that President Margaret Drugovich has accepted an offer from the Board of Trustees to continue as the school's leader for 8 more. The new contract runs through June 30, 2024, Drugovich was appointed Hartwick's 10th president in 2008.
Governor Cuomo today announced that the Masters-in-Education Teacher Incentive Scholarship Program will begin accepting applications on Thursday May 26. The program provides a full SUNY or CUNY tuition scholarship to high-achieving college undergraduates or professionals for their master's studies in education. State Senator Jim Seward will be at Hartwick College in Oneonta, where he will be joined by Hartwick College President Margaret Drugovich, Assemblyman Bill Magee, local officials, and representatives of craft food and beverage companies to officially open the Hartwick College Center for Craft Food and Beverage. Senator Seward will also announce special legislative funding to support the center. at 1:30 p.m.; at the Hartwick College Johnstone Science Center & Center for Craft Food and Beverage.

Main Street Baseball, LLC of Florida has filed a lawsuit against the Binghamton Mets for breach of contract, relating to a sale of the team & the backing out from that sale. Main Street seeks a 6-month injunction to keep the B-Mets ownership from selling the team, after they released emails from team president Michael Urda where he said that he had no problem selling to a group that would move the team out of Binghamton. Urda released a statement to the press Tuesday saying they did sign a Letter of Intent with Main Street Baseball in December, that contained the provision that the “Relocation to Wilmington Delaware would not be allowed under the conditions of the sale.” Urda stated that a second ownership group has come forward that wants to keep the team in NYSEG Stadium, and that he has faith in the court system.
Hartwick College President Margaret Drugovich has been appointed to the NCAA Division III Chancellors/Presidents Advisory Group. Drugovich joins 15 others on the Advisory Group, which consists of one chancellor or president from each Division III voting conference not currently represented on the Presidents Council or by a chancellor/president on the NCAA Management Council. Drugovich’s term will run through January 2017.
