Police responded to a 2-vehicle crash in the town of Chenango Saturday.  22 year old Mallory Neira of Owego lost
control of her vehicle & crossed into the opposing lane into a vehicle
driven by 82 year old Harold Sickles of Binghamton.   Neira was taken to Packer Hospital in Sayre;
Sickles was taken to Wilson Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his
injuries.   The accident remains under
investigation.

40 year old James Witt has been identified as the driver of
the tractor trailer that flipped onto its side on I-88 between the Unadilla
& Otego exits Monday afternoon.  Witt
traveled off the shoulder and traveled approximately 500 feet before striking
earth embankment and overturning on its side. Unadilla and Wells Bridge Fire
Departments responded & 1 eastbound lane of the I-88 was closed until about
4:30 this morning for cleanup & for the investigation.  Witt was transported to Wilson Hospital in
Johnson City complaining of head and rib pain.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
The results of the 75th Baseball
Writers’ Association of America Hall of Fame election will be revealed at 6:00
tonight.   Hall of Fame President Jeff
Idelson will announce the results on the MLB channel, tonight's announced
inductees will join Today’s Game Era electees Harold Baines and Lee Smith at
the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies on July 21st  in Cooperstown as part of the Induction
Weekend.

State Police at Sidney announced Monday afternoon that they
have located 23-year-old Cody Conkling of Sidney, who was reported missing by
family members Sunday afternoon.
Conkling was located safe, in good health and his family has been
advised.

State Police investigated an accident Thursday night at county roads 21 & 23 in the town of Walton. A vehicle operated by an unidentified 18 year old female from Lake City Florida, was traveling north on Route 21 when she began to enter Route 23 but then she swerved to stay on Route 21 and she struck an SUV driven by 26 year old Briar Jeffrey Lee Holt of Rock Hill, South Carolina; which was southbound on Route 21, The driver of the first vehicle was ticketed for failure to keep right, she complained of ankle and chest pain & was taken to Delaware Valley Hospital. A 17 year old female passenger in the 1st vehicle had multiple facial lacerations and contusions, & was also taken to Delaware Valley Hospital, and 18 year old male passenger from Sidney Center, who was also in the 1st vehicle, suffered a broken leg and chest pain he was airlifted to Wilson Memorial hospital in Johnson City. 2 people in the Holt SUV were uninjured.
State Police arrested 58 year old Harold Reid of Mount Upton for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. A trooper was dispatched to a report of a male behaving strangely in his vehicle at the Mirabito on East River Road in Bainbridge, Reid is accused of possessing heroin and suboxone, and he was released on appearance tickets for town of Bainbridge Court on August 16th.

Delaware County Sheriff Deputies arrested 36-year-old Harold Wilson of North Branch for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a motor vehicle. Wilson was observed traveling on State Highway 206 in the Town of Colchester at a high rate of speed where he was stopped, Deputies determined that Wilson was driving with 13 active suspensions, he was arraigned in the Town of Colchester Court, he was remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $750 cash bail or $2,500 secured bond.

State Police responded to the report of a 2-vehicle collision with injuries on State Highway 8 in the Town of Norwich, Thursday. Investigation revealed that 43-year-old Yae Yar of Utica entered the opposing lane to pass an un-involved tractor-trailer, his vehicle struck another driven by 27 year old Joanna Stanimer of West Edmeston.   Yar was pronounced dead at the scene from internal injuries, 36 year old Me Me was transported to Tri Town Hospital in Sidney where she was pronounced dead on arrival from internal injuries.   Stanimer was air lifted to Wilson Hospital by Lifenet and remains in critical condition with internal injuries.   Autopsies on the 2 deceased persons will be performed at Lourdes Hospital. 4 other people were taken to area hospitals with a variety of injuries; all were listed in serious but stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported bomb threat at DCMO BOCES Harold Campus in the Town of Masonville Thursday. A written threat to the building was located in a bathroom, students were evacuated & The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and State Police Explosives Detection K9 unit searched the school and were unable to locate explosives. 16-year-old Andrew Slentz of New Berlin was arrested for 1st degree filing a False Report; he was arraigned in the Town of Masonville Court and remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $500 cash bail. Slentz will reappear in the Town of Masonville Court at a later date.
