State Police located wanted subject Troy Maloney of Hampton, New Hampshire operating a motor vehicle on Interstate 88 in the Town of Colesville. Maloney was wanted by the State of Massachusetts for Arson to a Dwelling, Troopers stopped the vehicle Maloney was traveling in and arrested him without incident. Maloney was arraigned as a Fugitive From Justice in Town of Colesville Court and remanded to the Broome County Jail in lieu of bail pending an extradition hearing.

The Unadilla Chamber of Commerce will have its next regular meeting today at Green's Long River Inn, State Route 357, in Unadilla beginning at 8:15 am. Nominations for Business of the Years and Good Neighbor/Commitment to Community are to be turned in at this meeting for selection with honorees to be honored at the Annual Dinner meeting on Sunday, April 23 at the Unadilla Methodist Church, Main Street, Unadilla. The Bainbridge Chamber of Commerce announced this years winners of the “Citizen Of The Year” and “Business of the year”. The Citizen of the year is John Payne, the Business of the Year is “Nana’s Keepsakes”, and both will be honored at the annual dinner to be held at the Sundown Golf & Country Club in Guilford on October 29th.

GO-EDC energy sub-committee has scheduled a general interest presentation on this subject for Today, at 4:00 PM in the conference room of the Oneonta Hampton Inn. Dan Sullivan, the Mohawk Valley Region's new outreach coordinator for the Clean Energy Program will be the presenter. The CECP is a NYSERDA program which provides grant opportunities to Clean Energy designated communities of between $100,000 - $250,000 depending on population.

The theme of the meeting is to introduce discussion on how renewable energy sources might favorably address our current area limitations of natural gas and electricity. Professor Jeff Freedman, Research Associate from the Atmospheric Sciences Research Center at Albany University, will discuss how wind and solar might be applied to our area with emphasis on shared institutional applications.

The "Help Tom Help Others" fundraiser is set for this Saturday in Oneonta to help Tom Quiter of Mount Upton fulfill his dream of helping others suffering from various disabilities, to move on with their lives & Make positive contribution to society. Tom suffers from Brittle Bone disease & is wheel chair bound, & the Catskill Center for independence, Foothills performing arts Center have teamed up toe put on a benefit dinner & show featuring comedians & bands Saturday at Foothills. The Dispute Resolution Center of Catholic Charities is currently recruiting potential candidates to become trained volunteer mediators for their program.
