Ginny Ireland of Bainbridge has passed away on Sunday March 3, at her home, after a 12 year battle with cancer. Ireland was the coordinator of Operation Merry Christmas for many years & volunteered for many other area organizations, Calling hours will be at the Westcott-Madden Funeral Home 123 Main Street Unadilla on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Private burial will be in Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Unadilla. Operation Merry Christmas is asking for calls right now from low income families whose children would like Christmas presents this year. Program Coordiantor Ginny Ireland explains:

Operation Merry Christmas trees will remain up for a only a short time, with cards on their trees in area businesses and locations, participants can remove a card from one of the trees & return the requested item, those items will wind up under the Christmas tree of a child of a struggling family this Christmas.  Program coordinator Ginny Ireland told WCDO News where the trees are located:

Operation Merry Christmas has their Christmas trees at various locations, to get presents under Christmas trees for children in disadvantaged situations locally.  Program coordinator Ginny Ireland explains how the program will work over the next 2 weeks:
