A Chenango County Grand Jury Indicted Zackery England for criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell (fentanyl), possession of methamphetamine, and criminal possession of a forged instrument. Prosecutors said England also attempted to discard fentanyl by throwing it into bushes during a July 23 incident in Norwich. England will appear in Chenango County Court for arraignment shortly.

Chobani is gifting $250,000 each to infrastructure projects in Central New York, including for the Unadilla Community Farm's buildout of a solar-powered commercial kitchen and classroom space in West Edmeston, the kitchen will turn fresh harvests into nutritious meals for those in need, will also double as a teaching space for the Unadilla Community Farm's Beginning Farmer Training Program. Food made on-site will be donated to regional food pantries.

Delaware County Public Health Services was notified of a positive flock of highly pathogenic avian influenza, also known as H5N1. The flock consists of 150 chickens, geese and ducks. Federal & State agencies are on site at the farm advising on depopulating, cleaning, and disinfection activities. Contact with the flock was limited to the owner. Heather Warner of the Delaware County Public Health told WCDO News what people should look for in their own flock or among wild birds near their homes:

To date, there have been no human cases of avian influenza and no detections in cattle or domestic pets; it is advisable to keep children & pets away from dead birds or animals. National surveillance of milk is currently in place in multiple states including New York.

The SUNY Oneonta Alumni Association held a 9/11 Memorial Ceremony this morning at the 9/11 Memorial in the quad. The Foothills Performing Arts Center in Oneonta announced that the Paula Cole Concert scheduled for this Friday Night has been canceled. Foothills Director Geoff Doyle told WCDO News said that the concert was canceled due to circumstances beyond their control and they are working to reschedule the show at a later date. Binghamton Police arrested a 17-year-old for criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment, following a report of shots fired Monday, 1 victim was injured by gunfire, who was taken by police to an area hospital, he was treated & released.

Delaware County District Attorney's Office announced that 37 year old Paul Fontana of Delhi was indicted & arraigned on a 27 count indictments. Fontana is accused of possessing weapons, ghost guns, a 3d printer to make ghost guns, & for selling the illegal weapons, plus he was accused of possessing oxycodone, and for menacing an individual, after his apartment was targeted for a search warrant that was executed on on Monday. more details are expected to be released later today.
