Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 25 year old Samuel Layton of New Lisbon, for 3 counts of Reckless Endangerment, following an investigation into a shots fired complaint in the Town of Exeter. Layton is accused of firing a semi-automatic rifle in the direction of an occupied residence with a family of 3 inside, resulting in a rifle round impacting through the residence, he was located, arrested, processed, and turned over to Otsego County Corrections pending Centralized Arraignment

Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 27 year old Emily Tabler of Bronx, for Driving While Intoxicated, Operating a Motor Vehicle with a BAC of .08% or higher, Failure to keep right & Driving on the shoulder, following a property damage accident in the Town of Exeter. Deputies on patrol and came upon a motor vehicle accident on State Highway 28. Tabler was found to be intoxicated & was processed and released on an Appearance Tickets for Exeter Town Court at a later date.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal hit and run car vs. pedestrian accident on July 4, at about 8:45 pm on State Highway 80 near the Rogers Conservation Center in the Town of Sherburne. The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal hit and run car vs. pedestrian accident on July 4, at about 8:45 pm on State Highway 80 near the Rogers Conservation Center in the Town of Sherburne. Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 39 year old Michael Andreoli of Exeter, for Criminal Contempt, following an investigation into a 2 car personal injury motor vehicle accident. Andreoli was found to be violating a full stay away order of protection protecting the passenger in the vehicle, he was arrested and held for Arraignment.

State Police arrested 54 year old Mark Baily of Hartwick, following a reported domestic dispute in the town of Exeter. Bailey was involved in a domestic dispute that turned physical, he is also accused of pointing a loaded crossbow at a victim’s vehicle as they left. Investigators determined that Baily owns several guns but is not allowed to possess firearms because he is a convicted felon. Baily was arrested for Menacing, Assault, Endangering the Welfare of a Child & Criminal Possession of a Weapon, he was issued appearance tickets to the Exeter Town Court on May 14th.

The Otsego County Office of Emergency Services announced that they have sent personnel to assist in the fighting of the Catskills area wildfires in Ulster, Sullivan & Orange Counties. Otsego County deployed 5 Hand-crews, totaling 25 firefighters, to assist in Greenwood Lake, with fire fighters from Milford, Otego, Unadilla, & West Laurens Fire Departments, as well as Otsego County Emergency Services Deputy Fire Coordinator Jeremy Hilton. An extended appreciation is warranted to the Cherry Valley, Garrattsville, Gilbertsville, Morris, Mount Vision, Richfield Springs, West Exeter & Worcester Fire Departments for also offering additional personnel for deployment.

State Police responded to Otsego County Road 23 and Wing Hill Road in the town of Exeter Friday Afternoon for a two vehicle crash. A 4 door sedan was making a left turn on a sharp curve onto Wing Hill Road when the driver did not see an SUV from the opposite direction, The vehicles collided and both caught fire, A passerby with a fire extinguisher assisted in getting a family out of the sedan and another person assisted the driver of the SUV out of their vehicle. 3 LifeNet helicopters responded to the area. 3 children & the driver of the sedan; Nicole Rinaldo of Ilion were transported to various hospitals, The driver of the SUV, 52 year old Michael Salon of Herkimer, was transported by helicopter to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested Michael Morton of Exeter on June 26th on multiple drug charges, after deputies responded to a complaint of a suspicious person in the Town of Plainfield. Morton is accused of criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of a controlled substance not in original container, he faces court action at a later date.

The Otsego County Department of Emergency Services announced that Dry ice and bottled water will be available for pick up this evening at the Unadilla fire station and the West Exeter fire station from 6 PM – 9 PM or while supplies last. They also announced that the Emergency shelter at the Armory in will cease operations tomorrow, at 12 Noon. The Clark’s Sports Center will remain open until further notice. Edmeston Central School will be open this evening from 5:00M – 9 PM for Edmeston residents to come and get warm, get a hot meal and a hot shower.

State Police and the Otsego County Sheriff’s Department were
dispatched to a report of a pedestrian struck by a tractor trailer with a dump
trailer Wednesday at approximately 1:44 p.m., on County Road 22 in Schuyler
Lake. An initial investigation reveals
that the tractor trailer with the dump trailer was traveling on County Road 22
when 47 year old Clarence Travis of Exeter stepped into the path & was
struck. Travis was taken to a Utica Hospital
& succumbed to his injuries, the driver of the tractor trailer was not
injured, and the incident remains under investigation.

for overdriving, torturing and injuring animals; failure to provide proper
sustenance and failure to provide appropriate shelter for dogs left
outside. K. Pritchard was arrested after
Troopers responded to a complaint from a UPS driver who observed a dog whose
left leg appeared to be missing, The Susquehanna SPCA responded and a
veterinarian was contacted, who believed that Zoe had chewed off her own leg
after they observed bone fragments in her stomach, she also had previous
untreated injuries and scarred ear tips.
Zoe was transported to Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine
for further care. Pritchard surrender

Otsego County Sheriff Department arrested 31 year old Joel Young of Exeter, after he pointed a shotgun at a Sheriff’s Deputy during a domestic dispute call. The deputy entered the residence and attempted to arrest the defendant, who fled from into his bedroom & retrieved a shotgun and pointed it at the Deputy. Young was taken in to custody following a physical struggle, he was arrested for Menacing a police officer, Criminal Possession of Weapon, Resisting Arrest & Harassment, he was arraigned in the Town of Otsego Court, & was remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond and he is scheduled to reappear at a later date.

State Police arrested 27 year old William Laraby of Burlington for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Unlawful Possession of Marihuana and having a Controlled Substance in the Non-Original Container. Troopers received a complaint that Laraby borrowed someone’s car and did not return it; they located Laraby in the town of Exeter. Laraby was arraigned in the town of Exeter and remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.

State Police arrested 46-year-old Greg Dyn of Richfield Springs for 5th degree Arson, after the troopers investigation determined that on January 21st, during an argument with his ex-girlfriend, Dyn had sent her pictures of some of her clothing and personal items that he had set on fire. Dyn was arraigned in the town of Exeter Court and was released on his own recognizance. An order of protection was issued against him & his next scheduled court date is January 31st.

Otsego County officials announced that the Exeter Drop-Off Site for bagged garbage and recyclables will stop collecting at 12:00 noon on Saturdays, starting September 23rd. The New hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday 7:00AM to NOON & Saturday 8:00AM – NOON, through September 30th. No commercial haulers or construction debris at the Exeter site. Only bagged garbage and recyclables will be accepted. Bagged garbage is $3/bag. More information is available at 547-4225.

State Police arrested 34 year old Rachel Howard of Burlington Flats for the Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a B.A.C. result of .18 and other traffic violations. This arrest occurred after a traffic stop when Howard was observed driving across hazard markings while on County Route 22 in the Town of Exeter. An investigation determined that she was driving while highly intoxicated. Howard was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Exeter Court on April 19, 2017.

State Police arrested 26-year-old Joshua Gould of Exeter for 3rd degree Assault, criminal obstruction of breathing and unlawful imprisonment. The arrest occurred after a report of a domestic dispute Tuesday in the Town of Exeter. Troopers determined that Gould allegedly physically restrained his Girlfriend, chocked her and caused an injury to her head. Gould was arraigned and was remanded to the Otsego County jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond & an order of protection was issued.

State Police responded to a report of a motorcycle accident on State Route 28 in the Town of Exeter. 86-year-old Herbert Black of Remsen was operating his motorcycle on State Route 28 when he entered a curve in the roadway, he was unable to maintain his lane and struck a street sign & was ejected and suffered serious injuries to his head, neck and chest. Black was transported to Bassett Hospital where he was pronounced deceased, no autopsy would be required.
