38 year old Eslam Hegazy of Vestal has been identified as the person who was shot by Vestal Police Wednesday, Hegazy threw a television set at officers and he failed to put down a knife & attempted to attack an officer, after they responded to the report of a mental health issue, Hegazy was taken to Wilson Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, the case has been turned over to the State Attorney General's Office.
