Delsa McEwan, the mother of Anielle "AK" McEwan Lomnicki, has filed a lawsuit In Delaware County Supreme Court, against a number of people in relation to the February 15th incident where the 14 year old was run down by a car allegedly driven by Courtni Baker in Sidney. The lawsuit is filed against Baker, Baker's mother Theresa Baker who owned the vehicle, plus Ermeti's Community Lounge, owner Joe Ermeti and bar manager Laura Huntley. The Lawsuit claims that Community Lounge Staff should have stopped serving Courtni Baker that day, That Theresa Baker should not have allowed her daughter to operate the car while intoxicated, and against Baker for driving the vehicle into the Sidney Teenager. The case was filed on April 18th.
The American Red Cross is holding 2 local blood drives today, as blood supplies remain critically low. In Sidney, a blood drive will be held from 1:00 to 6:00 PM at the Sidney Elks Lodge at 104 River Street. A blood drive is also being held in Delhi from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the SUNY Delhi Farrell Student & Community Center, at 454 Delhi Drive. Sidney, Unadilla & Masonville fire fighters responded to a fire at 80 Main Street in Sidney today at about 2:45 PM, in the basement of Ermeti’s Community Lounge. Sidney Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Ray Baker told WCDO News that the fire appears to have started in a dryer, & it was under control in about 30 minutes.
