Attorney General Eric Schneiderman reminded voters that his office has created a hotline to help troubleshoot and resolve a range of issues and barriers encountered by voters at the polls during the primary election on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. The Attorney General urges voters experiencing problems or issues at the polls to call the office's hotline at 800-771-7755 or email civil.rights@ag.ny.gov at any time between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM on Tuesday. The hotline will be staffed by attorneys and staff in the office's Civil Rights Bureau.
Chenango County Sheriff’s Department arrested 37-year-old Eric Carpenter of Plymouth for Harassment for allegedly subjecting 2 victims to physical contact during a Domestic Dispute in the Town of Plymouth. Carpenter was arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court and was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on bail pending future court action.

3 people were arrested following a stabbing early Friday on Birdsall Street in Norwich. Norwich Police Department and the Chenango County Sheriff's Office found the victim who was stabbed during a fight; he was treated at Chenango Memorial Hospital & released. Arrested were 36-year-old Eric Carpenter for 2nd degree Assault & Criminal possession of a weapon, 22-year-old Brandon Parker, for Tampering with physical evidence, & 21-year-old Russell Button for Tampering with physical evidence. All three were arraigned in Norwich City Court, Carpenter was sent to the Chenango County Jail on $25,000 cash bail. Parker and Button were each sent to the jail on $3,000 cash bail. All will reappear in Norwich City Court today.

The Tri Town Relay for life to benefit area American cancer society, will be held at general Clinton park in Bainbridge may 3rd & 4th. Area cancer society spokesperson Helen Gregory said that teams can still sign up to particpate:

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office completed an investigation in the Town of Oxford where a subject who could not legally possess a shotgun, sold 1 to another subject who could not legally possess a shotgun. Charged were 34-year-old Nadine Button for making a false written statement, she was released pending a future court appearance in City of Norwich Court. Also charged, 18 year old Austin Demuth for 4th degree criminal possession of a weapon, he was located in the town of Colesville and arraigned in the Town of Oxford Court & was remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $500 cash bail pending future court action. 32-year-old Eric carpenter was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, He was arraigned in The Town of Norwich Court; He was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $5000 bail and order to reappear in the Town of Oxford Court at later date.

The Chenango County Sheriff's Office responded to a residence on South State Street in Norwich to execute a bench warrant issued by Town of Norwich Court. 6 people were arrested, including 32-year-old Cheryl Myers of Norwich for False personation and failure to appear on a prior charge of petit larceny. Also charged were 34-year-old Sean Beam of Norwich, 32-year-old Eric Carpenter of Plymouth, 18-year-old Lexus Armstrong of Oxford, 34-year-old Nadine Button of Norwich and an unidentified 16-year-old youth, all for Obstruction of Governmental Administration. Myers was arraigned and sent to the Chenango County Jail on $500 bail pending future court action, the other 5 defendants were issued appearance tickets and will appear in City of Norwich Court at a later date.
