The Binghamton Rumble Ponies invite fans to Mirabito Stadium for a ceremony celebrating the team's 2025 Eastern League Championship Thursday at 2:30 pm. Admission is free to the public. Coaches and players will be honored on the field following their Eastern League Championship Series victory over the Erie Seawolves, winning 8-2. It's the franchise's fourth Eastern League title in its 33-year franchise history and the first since 2014.

Chenango County Sheriff’s Office Arrested 31 year old Abdi Ali of Norwich for Failure to Notify Law Enforcement of Address Change. The Chenango County Sheriff's Office received information that Ali, who is a level two sex offender and was last registered to an address in the City of Syracuse, moved to the Town of Norwich and failed to notify Law Enforcement of his address change within ten days. Ali was taken into custody without incident and was arraigned & was remanded to the Chenango County Jail, The Sheriff's Office was then notified by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement that Ali is a person of interest with their agency, he was turned over to U.S. Immigration.

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies announced that Reid Brignac returns as manager, along with Pitching Coach AJ Sager, Hitting Coach Darin Everson, and Bench Coach Mariano Duncan. Juan Loyo joins the staff as the team's development coach. The Rumble Ponies made it to the Eastern League Championship Series in 2023, they open the 2024 at Mirabito Stadium against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Friday, April 5. Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies responded last Thursday to a domestic incident in progress in the Town of Meredith. Upon arrival one of the individuals involved was identified as 32- year-old Edward Reed of Meredith, a tinfoil containing a white powdery substance along with a scale was discovered within the residence, Deputies charged Reed with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia, . Reed was released on appearance tickets returnable at a later date to the Meredith Town Court.

The opening game of the Eastern League Championship Series between the Binghamton Rumble Ponies and Erie Seawolves scheduled for Sunday at Mirabito Stadium has been postponed due to inclement weather in the forecast. The game will be made up on Monday at 6:05 pm. at Mirabito Stadium and gates will open at 5 pm. Fans with tickets to Sunday's game can use the same tickets for Monday's game. Binghamton Rumble Ponies have advanced into the Eastern League Championship with a 2-0 win over the Somerset Patriots Thursday Night, They will play in the Eastern League Championship Game #1 on Sunday at 5:35 PM At Mirabito Stadium. The Binghamton Black Bears announced today that the club has named Gary Gill as the new head coach for the 2022-23 season. Gill joins the Black Bears after being the head coach and general manager of the Vermont Lumberjacks in the Eastern Hockey League. Gill has over 400 wins & 9 years of experience coaching professional hockey.

Major League Baseball officially released 2021 schedules for Minor League teams. The Binghamton Rumble Ponies will compete in a 120-game season, which will begin on May 4th, and end on September 19th. All home stands will be six games long, The Rumble Ponies first home stand will begin on May 11th at NYSEG Stadium. The Rumble Ponies will compete in the new Double A Northeast league, against many teams that previously played in the Eastern League.

Governor Cuomo announced that the COVID-19 7-Day positivity rate has declined for the 40th straight day, to 3.66%. On Tuesday there were 6,574 Patient Hospitalizations, 1,273 Patients in the ICU; 854 on ventilators, & 109 COVID-19 Deaths in New York State. 169,963 were tested Tuesday, there are 12 New UK Strain Cases In New York State

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies announced today that the start of the 2020 Eastern league Baseball season will be postponed until at least June 15th.  Make up dates for impacted games will be announced at a later date.  Rumble Ponies staff remains working remotely, but are accessible for more information by texting to 722-3866 or by email to info@bingrp.com.

The 2020 Eastern League All-Star Game that was scheduled to take place at NYSEG Stadium on July 15th has been cancelled; the Home Run Derby scheduled for July 14th has also been cancelled.  Minor League Baseball officials canceled the game due to the delay of the 2020 Regular Season as an effect of the Coronavirus.  Tickets for the Eastern League All-Star Game and/or Home Run Derby may be exchanged for 2 Regular Season games of equal or lesser value.  Fans wishing to receive a refund may reach out to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies Front Office when the stadium re-opens.

& The Commissioner's office, regarding plans to eliminated about a quarter
of Minor League baseball teams, a plan that could save Major league baseball
owners hundreds of thousands of dollars.

plan calls for most single a sort season teams to be eliminated, with the
Brooklyn Cyclones owned by New York Mets Ownership, to be moved into the Double
A Eastern league & eliminate the Binghamton Rumble ponies as the Mets
Double A team, Binghamton is privately owned by John Hughes.

Binghamton Rumble Ponies owner John Hughes today held a
press conference regarding the potential for Major League Baseball of shutting
down about 1/4 of the minor league teams in the country, including the Rumble
Ponies.  Hughes said that NYSEG Stadium
is greatly improved & fully compliant with existing standards:

Hughes said that another factor
in closing down teams is the proximity of the team to the Major League Franchise;
obviously Binghamton is within 200 miles of Citi Field in Queens.  So far no decisions have been made, no
meetings have been held regarding this proposal & the 2020 season will be
played as scheduled.

State Police arrested 2 Pennsylvania residents following a
drug bust in Chenango County that seized thousands of dollars’ worth of
drugs.  28 year old Jordan Melendez and
24 year old Kimberly Rivas were arrested Thursday following the execution of
search warrants at multiple locations in Chenango County.  Police seized 1.5 pounds of Crystal Meth,
pure Fentanyl, 20 pounds of marihuana, 4 handguns, 16 illegally possessed long
guns Scales, Packaging materials & $3,350.00 in cash. Melendez & Rivas
were charged with Criminal possession of a controlled substance & were
arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court and remanded to Chenango County Jail
with no bail. The case remains under investigation, additional charges are
possible.

Sunday night, the Deposit Fire Department and Eastern Broome
Emergency Services were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident where the
vehicle involved had gone into a creek in the Town of Sanford. The sole
occupant of the vehicle was able to get out of the vehicle and water prior to
our arrival. The occupant sustained injuries as a result of the accident and
was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Major
League Baseball is reportedly ready to propose a plan to eliminate about 1/4 of
the 160 plus Minor league teams, especially short league Single A teams,
according to the Daily News, the Short season Brooklyn Cyclones would be placed
in the Double A Eastern League, thereby eliminating the Binghamton Rumble
Ponies.  Binghamton owner John Hughes
plans to have representation at an upcoming meeting on the subject, showing
that NYSEG Stadium & the team’s location are worthy reasons to keep the team
in Binghamton.

The Eastern League of Professional Baseball has announced
the league will be changing their playoff format from a full season format to a
split season format. Under the new format the first place team from each
division during both the first and second halves of the season will qualify for
the postseason. This change will go into effect immediately, starting with the
2019 season.  The Rumble Ponies kick off
the 2019 campaign on the road April 4 against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
Home Opener is scheduled for a 6:35 PM first pitch on Thursday, April 11 at NYSEG
Stadium.

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies announced that the Eastern League has selected Binghamton to host the 2020 All-Star Game at NYSEG Stadium. The multi-day event will feature the top prospects in the Eastern League Additional information about the events comprising Binghamton's 2020 Eastern League All-Star Game will be made available at a later date. Binghamton hosted the Double-A All-Star Game in 1994, but has never hosted the Eastern League classic.

Governor Cuomo today announced a new I Love NY advertising campaign to promote travel throughout the State’s 11 vacation regions. the campaign includes TV ads that are being aired in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, western Massachusetts, the eastern and central portions of both Pennsylvania and Ohio and in Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa in Canada. The ads will run through the summer until August 7.

The National Baseball Hall of Fame announced that the 2016 Inductees Exhibit is now open at the Hall of Fame and will remain on display through May of 2017. The exhibit is located on the first floor of the Museum as visitors approach the Plaque Gallery, artifacts include a Mariners home jersey worn by Ken Griffey Jr. in 1999 when he won his fourth straight American League home run title, a bat used by Mike Piazza in the 1996 All-Star Game when he won the game’s MVP Award, Piazza’s Mets batting helmet from the 2000 World Series & A catcher’s mitt Piazza used during the 1993 season when he was named the National League’s Rookie of the Year

The Binghamton Mets announced the return of manager Pedro Lopez, pitching coach Glenn Abbott and hitting coach Luis Natera for the 2016 season. Lopez is the all-time winningest manager in Binghamton Mets history; Lopez led the B-Mets to a 2014 Eastern League Championship.

Lopez is the all-time winningest manager in Binghamton Mets history; he guided the B-Mets to the Eastern League Championship last year.

Pitchers Luis Cessa and Paul Sewald along with infielder Josh Rodriguez and outfielder Brandon Nimmo will represent the Binghamton Mets at the 2015 Eastern League All-Star Classic in Portland Maine on Wednesday, July 15th. It’s the 3rd straight season the B-Mets will send at least 4 players to the annual event. Nimmo is a former 1st round draft pick by the New York Mets, this will be his 3rd straight All-Star game selection.

The Binghamton Mets will host game 3 of the Eastern league Championship series tonight against Richmond. The Mets took the first 2 games of the series in Richmond, if they win tonight, the team will have their first league championship since 1994.   Tickets are still available at Bmets. The Binghamton Mets clinched their second straight postseason berth as a result of the New Britain Rock Cats' 10-1 loss to Richmond Thursday night. The berth marks Binghamton's 8th trip to the postseason in franchise history, winning the Eastern League Championship in 1992 and 1994.

The Binghamton Mets Released their 2014 Schedule.  The B-Mets set a team record with 86 victories in 2013, sending them into the eastern league playoffs for the first time in 7 seasons.  The 23rd season at NYSEG Stadium in Binghamton begins on April 3rd against the Akron Aeros.
