State Police arrested 62 year old Dawn Hawley of Delancey for Stalking, after a victim located a tracking device in their vehicle. The victim believed that Hawley had placed the tracker in December 2025 but was unable to find it until last week, Hawley was processed and was issued an appearance ticket to the Hamden Town Court on July 22, 2026.

Broome County Sheriff's Office arrested 30 year old Patrick Summers of Deposit for Criminal Mischief, 3 counts of Menacing, 3 counts of Harassment and 1 count of Disorderly Conduct with Violent Behavior, Summer was arrested following an investigation into a recent weapons complaint in the Town of Windsor.

Warren County 911 received a call from 45 year old Luciano Frattolin of Canada, reporting his 9-year-old daughter Melina Frattolin was missing, with a possible abduction, in Lake George. As the case progressed, law enforcement identified inconsistencies in the father’s account of events and the timeline he provided. The girl was found dead in Ticonderoga, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office has turned the investigation over to State Police. Luciano Frattolin, has been arrested and is currently being held at the Essex County Jail, Luciano Frattolin, the father of Melina Frattolin, was charged with second-degree murder and concealing of a corpse, The investigation is ongoing,

State Police, fire and emergency responders were dispatched to a 1-vehicle crash in the town of Andes. An investigation at the scene determined that a vehicle was traveling south on Fall Clove Road when it exited the roadway, striking a tree head-on. The operator, 43 year old Harland Dye of Delancey and the passenger, 34 year old Kate Cornelius-Schecter of Brooklyn, were transported to O’Connor Hospital, Dye was pronounced deceased at the hospital, Cornelius-Shecter was transported to Albany Medical Center for further treatment.

Delaware County Sheriff Deputy’s responded to a report of a suspicious person in a vehicle located at the intersection of Scotch Mountain Road & Arbuckle Hollow Road, in the Town of Delhi. Deputies observed 78-year-old Dante Musci of Delancey lying in the back seat of the vehicle, he had traveled along Arbuckle Hollow Road and was involved in a property damage auto accident and had left the scene. Musci was charged with leaving the scene of a property damage auto accident, Operating a Motor Vehicle while impaired by drugs and driving while intoxicated, he was released and will appear in the Town of Delhi Court at a later date.

Congressman Marc Molinaro announced over $27 million in federal funding for community development projects in New York's 19th Congressional District. The City of Norwich will receive over 1.2 Million Dollars for Sanitary Sewer System Repairs& the Town of Oneonta will receive $4.2 Million Dollars for installation of 7,000 linear feet of sewer and water lines and associated laterals, meters, and hookups.

A Delaware County Grand Jury indicted Benjamin Moyse of Delhi on 11 charges. Count 1 alleged that, while a 10th grade teacher at Delaware Academy, Moyse intentionally aided a person under 16 years of age to commit the felony crimes of possessing and disseminating child pornography. The Grand Jury also charged Moyse with 5 separate counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, for knowingly engaged in a course of conduct likely to be injurious to the physical, mental, or moral welfare of 5 separate children at Delaware Academy. Moyse was also charged with 2 counts of Official Misconduct, for failing to follow the school’s policy and procedures when students and parents repeatedly reported to him that students were being sexually abused & for failing to report child abuse or maltreatment by his students and his students’ parents.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a vehicle operated by 19-year old Levi R. Shambaugh, of Delancey on sun Day January 16th for allegedly driving 70 Miles per hour in a 55mph zone, on State Highway 10, in the Town of Delhi. Shambaugh’s New York State driver’s license was suspended due to a failure to answer a summons. Shambaugh was charged him with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, speeding among other charges, he was released on appearance tickets for the Town of Delhi Court at a later date.

arrested 48-year-old Mark Boice of Delancey for Endangering the Welfare of a
Child and Forcible Touching, for allegedly touching a child
inappropriately.  Boice was issued an
appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Hamden Court at a later date.

Delaware County Sheriff Deputies responded December 8th to a
1 car accident in the Town of Kortright.
22 year old Zachary Keenan of Delancey was the operator of the vehicle,
he was charged with DWI, Operating a Motor Vehicle with a BAC of greater than
.08%, failure to keep right and operating a motor vehicle with no seat
belt.  Keenan was taken to O'Connor
Hospital in Delhi & was treated & released, he is due to appear in Town
of Kortright Court at a later date to answer the charges.

Lisa Myers of Delancey, for Strangulation, Endangering the Welfare of a Child
& 3rd Degree Assault. Myers was arraigned in the Town of Delhi Court, and
released on her own recognizance, to re-appear in that Court at a later time
for further Court action.

Delaware County Sheriff's
Deputies, State Police and the Stamford Fire Department and Emergency Squad
responded to a 911 report of a fatal hit-and-run vehicle-pedestrian accident on
State Highway 10 in the Village of Stamford.
The Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim, 24 year-old
Shannon German of Stamford was lying in the roadway when she was struck by a
tractor trailer that continued traveling north following the collision.  State Highway 10 was subsequently closed to
traffic for several hours for the investigation.  The tractor trailer and driver was located in
the Schenectady area by State Police, who has been identified as 50-year-old
Peter Baldauf of Delancey, who did not see German lying in the roadway and
unknowingly struck her.  Baldauf has not
been charged in relation to the accident.

The number of Animal Cruelty cases or cases of animal hoarding have spiked recently in the Southern Tier, which creates a difficult situation for area Shelters. Erin Insinga of the Delaware Valley Humane Society told WCDO News that if you know of those situations, the first call is to your local sheriff's department:

Almond Upton of Florida has died in Prison, where he was serving time for the murder of State Trooper Christopher Skinner on I-81 In Broome County in May of 2014. Upton was serving his sentence in the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora. Upton claimed he was in a manic state at the time he intentionally ran over Trooper Skinner, who was ocnducting an unrealted traffic stop, Upton was found guilty & was sentecned to life in prison, he died Sunday & the cause of death has not yet been released.

The Department of Environmental Protection announced plans to build a $34 million hydroelectric facility at Cannonsville Reservoir, which should produce enough electricity to power more than 3,500 homes each year. DEP officials announced that they will host 2 public meetings on Friday, one at 9:00 AM at the Deposit State Theater, at 148 Front Street in Deposit, & at 12:30 PM at the Upper Delaware Council office, 211 Bridge Street in Narrowsburg. Residents in South New Berlin are voting today on a proposed $1.1 million project to purchase property and construct a new fire department building. Voting will be held from 12:00 Noon until 9:00 PM at the South New Berlin Firehouse.

Voters in the Unadilla Valley School District will vote Thursday on a capital improvement project involving heating, parking lots, roof replacement, and auditorium improvements, among many other projects. The project would be paid for through a Capital Reserve Fund & State Aid, the $10 million dollar project vote will be held from 12:00 Noon to 8:00 PM in the District Office lobby Thursday.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 21 year old Rebecca Kole of Delancey, for moving from a lane unsafely, DWI, and other charges, following an investigation into a Motor Vehicle accident in the Town of Walton. Kole was later released on traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear at Walton Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.

The City of Oneonta and the Otsego County Conservation Association will be co-sponsoring a talk on the emerald ash borer on today, at 6:30pm. The insect is highly destructive; the first one was discovered in the town of Unadilla in 2014. The free talk will take place at the Otsego County Chamber of Commerce, 189 Main Street, Suite 500; it is free and open to the public. More information is available by calling OCCA at 282-4087.

Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 3 Delhi area residents on felony drug possession charges following the execution of a high risk search warrant at a Meredith Street in Delhi. Deputies seized bulk packaged heroin and 30 bags of packaged heroin, marijuana, a scale and drug packaging paraphernalia. Investigators arrested 50-year-old Ramar Hassell and 54-year-old Valerie Alexander of Delhi for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Hassell was also charged with Resisting Arrest. Investigators also arrested 25-year-old William Effner of Delancey and charged him with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance & Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument. All 3 were arraigned & were remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $100,000 cash bail pending their appearance in the Town of Delhi Court on November 9th.

State Police executed a residential search warrant at a home in the town of Delancey; they arrested 20 year old David Dotey on 3 felony counts of Promoting Obscene Sexual Performance by a Child, Possessing Obscene Sexual Performance by a Child and Computer Trespass. Dotey is accused of uploading and distributing sexual performance by prepubescent children, he was arraigned and was remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 property bond. The case is still under investigation, additional charges are possible.

The executive director of Delaware Opportunities John Eberhard died in a 1-car accident Saturday night. The 70 year old Eberhard of DeLancey was driving on state Route 10 in Fraser when his car left the road and struck a tree. The investigation into the accident is continuing, Eberhard served as executive director of Delaware Opportunities since 1984.

Mills is accused of intentionally preventing another person from placing a 911 phone call to law enforcement during a domestic dispute. NYSEG reported that 1,193 customers without power in Delaware County, due to a utility pole that caught fire in Delancey this morning. A Delaware County Grand Jury handed down Sealed Indictments last Thursday relating to 4 separate narcotics trafficking investigations conducted by members of the Delaware County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Unit. Sheriff's Office Investigators and Deputies arrested 30-year-old Gregory Shamus of Delhi, 28-year-old Cody Warner of Trout Creek, 31-year-old Patrick Ford of Delancey, & 38-year-old Jennifer Fogliano of Masonville on Sealed Indictment Arrest Warrants on a variety drug charges. All of the defendants were arraigned today in Delaware County Court and were remanded to the Delaware County Jail without bail pending further court action.

19 year old Wade Armstrong of Delancy was arrested after a hit-and-run accident at the Taylor’s Gas Station in an alleged attempt at robbing the store. Armstrong allegedly stole the vehicle from the Delancey area, drove to Oneonta & drove the vehicle into the building breaking the windows and damaging the structure & the vehicle. Armstrong was charged with two counts of Criminal mischief, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property and attempted burglary as well as numerous lesser charges, he faces court action shortly.

Delaware county sheriff’s deputies arrested 3 men following a motor vehicle accident on Holmes Hollow Road in the town of Delhi. 42-year-old Zack Vannostrand of Delancey was charged with DWI, refusal to take a breath test & Obstruction of Governmental Administration. 27-year-old Alexander Klenck of Delhi was charged with Obstruction of Governmental Administration, and he was also wanted on a warrant from Oneonta, and 18-year-old Jonathan Stein of Delhi was charged with trespassing after fleeing the accident scene. Vannostrand & Klenck were remanded to the Delaware County Jail on bail; Stein was issued an appearance ticket for Delhi Town Court.
