Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 1 car property damage automobile accident on County Highway 14 in the Town of Franklin on May 5th. Deputies determined that the vehicle crossed over the dividing lines, entered into the oncoming lane of travel, struck guardrails, causing it to become disabled. 53-year-old Dorian Stewart of Unadilla was operating the vehicle with a suspended license and in an intoxicated state, she was charged with failure to keep right, aggravated unlicensed operation and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs. Stewart was released on tickets returnable to the Town of Franklin Court at a later date

University of Maine Chancellor's office announced that Michael Laliberte will be the next president of the University of Maine at Augusta starting August 1st. Laliberte has served as President of the SUNY Delhi since 2016, where he added 19 new degree programs to address local and state workforce issues and oversaw $42 million in transformative capital projects.

A Benefit is being held for Sidney native Jessica Archer Vis Sunday in Sidney, she is battling leukemia & money is needed for uncovered medical costs, travel and family lodging in the Buffalo area, for several weeks at a time, during the course of her treatment. The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force executed a search warrant at 174 Murray Street in Binghamton. 27 year old Angel Feringa was arrested on a variety of drug charges for allegedly possessing powdered heroin, 22 bags of packaged heroin, crack cocaine and $550 cash from drug sales, she was also wanted on an arrest warrant for Grand Larceny out of the City of Binghamton Court. 48 year Stacey Taylor was wanted on a Probation Violation warrant and was also arrested. Feringa and Taylor face arraignment today in the City of Binghamton Court.
Dr. Michael Laliberte, who was Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, was named SUNY Delhi president by the State University Board of Trustees Thursday. Laliberte will become Delhi’s 10th chief executive on July 21, succeeding Dr. Candace Vancko, who has served as SUNY Delhi president since August 1999.
