The Broome County Sheriff's Office arrested 30 year old Joseph Martino for allegedly unlawfully entering a Conklin business on April 12th. Martino was charged with burglary and criminal mischief and faces court action shortly.
The Broome County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking for Dallas Tong on an outstanding warrant and is asking residents for assistance. Police describe Tong a white male, 6’ 9” tall, about 190 pounds with blue eyes and Blonde hair, he is wanted on a warrant for Burglary & Criminal Mischief, Tips can be called in to 607-778-1196 or submitted electronically at gobroomecounty.com/sheriff/warrants.

As part of the State Budget passed last weekend, there were some changes to the controversial Bail Reform Legislation passed 2 years ago during the Cuomo Administration. Current Assemblyman & Former Norwich police Chief Joe Angelino told WCDO News that these updates will do very little to change the current atmosphere:

Delaware County Sheriff Craig DuMond announced the retirement of his Undersheriff Timothy Buckley, effective May 21nd. Sergeant Kim Smith, a 25-year member of the Sheriff’s Office, will be appointed the next Undersheriff of Delaware County. Undersheriff Buckley initiated his Law Enforcement Career in 1996 working for various municipal Police Departments in Delaware and Chenango Counties.

State Police at Troop C in Sidney held their annual Memorial Ceremony this morning at Troop C Headquarters in Sidney. Commanding Officer Major William McEvoy comments:

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 55 year old Kathleen Denario of Oneonta for Resisting Arrest, False Personation, Petit Larceny and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. Deputies attempted to arrest Denario on a Probation Warrant issued by Otsego County & after a complaint in the parking lot of the Hobart Inn where Denario was located. Denario was arraigned & was remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond, pending action in Town of Stamford Court at a later date.
A free Orchestral Concert will be held tonight at the CHENANGO ARTS COUNCIL at 7:30 pm. The orchestra will be conducted by Dr. Timothy Perry, The Binghamton Community Orchestra is made up of about 70 people, and the highlight is the "Triple Cities Suite" written by Kristin Gilbert, commissioned by the Binghamton Community Orchestra, and funded through a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts.
The Chenango County Public Health Department announced that a free rabies clinic will be held tonight in Bainbridge. The clinic will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 at the village garage at 1 River Street; more information is available at 337-1673.
Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 51 year old Mohamed Yvonnas, of Brooklyn, for DWI aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle & operating an unregistered motor vehicle. Yvonnas had a .13% blood alcohol content while he was operating a motor vehicle in the Town of Meredith, he was also found to be an illegal immigrant and to have an active warrant for DWI from New York City. Yvonnas was arraigned at the Town of Davenport Court and remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5000 cash bail or $10,000 bond pending future action in Town of Meredith Court at a later date.

Delaware County Sheriff-Elect Craig DuMond announces the selection of long-time Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Timothy Buckley to be the Undersheriff. Buckley began his career as a police officer with the Village of Hancock Police Department in 1996; in 1998 he served as a Sheriff’s Deputy and a School Resource Officer with the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office before transferring to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office in 2000.
The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce will begin its 2018 monthly networking breakfasts on January 5 at SUNY Delhi’s Alumni Hall from 8:30 to 10 a.m. The presentation will be on the New York Paid Family Leave Law, nearly all private sector employees in New York will be eligible for Paid Family Leave, the featured speaker is New York Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon.
