Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested 29 year old Damion Spicer of Plymouth for 2nd degree Assault last week. Deputies were called for an assault in Sherburne, Spicer allegedly hit the victim several times in the face, causing serious physical injury. The victim was transported to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse to receive further treatment. Spicer was arraigned & was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $50,000 cash bail. Spicer is set to appear in the Town of Sherburne Court at a later date.
Chenango County Fire officials are investigating a fire at 27 State Street in Oxford Friday afternoon. 2 people were injured, 1 suffered severe burns, 2 Life Net Helicopters were called for the victims.

The Southern Tier 8 Regional Board is hosting the 1st State Infrastructure Summit: Building a More Resilient Southern Tier, where federal, state and regional leaders address the infrastructure needs of the 14-county Central and Southern Tier Regions. About 200 local, state and federal partners, are participating from 8:30 a.m. To 4:00 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel, in Binghamton.

State Police arrested 42 year old Damion Burns of Oxford, for 2nd degree Assault, DWI, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer, Reckless Endangerment, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Mischief and 2 drug charges following an attempted traffic stop for speeding & a short high speed pursuit on State Route 12, in the Town of Greene. The unidentified Trooper was injured & a patrol vehicle damaged in the pursuit, Burns was apprehended, he refused to submit to a breath test and was also found to unlawfully possess marihuana and cocaine. Burns was arraigned in the City of Norwich Court and remanded to the Chenango County Jail with no bail set at this time.
