Mirabito Philanthropy, announced that their Golf Tournament from last year raised over $150,000 to various Charities. The Golf Tourney brought together Mirabito Energy Products customers, partners, employees and family members together for golf at the Turning Stone courses, money raised went to such charities as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Make-A-Wish, the Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital, the Roswell Park Cancer Center & the Boys & Girls Clubs, among many others. The family of Robert Brooks filed a federal civil rights lawsuit on Wednesday after Brooks was beaten by correctional officers at Marcy Correctional Facility and died at an area hospital the following day in December. The New York State Attorney General's Office has stepped back from the investigation, the case has been turned over to Onondaga County District Attorney's office for the officials investigation. The Lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York is against 17 defendants who are directly or indirectly involved in Brooks case.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is hosting a series of fund raising walks this month. Locally, 2 walks are scheduled this Saturday, at Keith Clark Park in Sidney another is scheduled for Otsiningo Park in Binghamton, with check in times at 10:00 AM and the walks beginning at 11:00 AM.
