Chenango County Sheriff's Office arrested 49 year old Christopher Prosser of North Norwich for Disseminating indecent material to minor’s. Prosser is a registered sex offender, a complaint was filed that he was having a sexually motivated conversation with a teenaged female, while using an alias. Investigators discovered that Prosser sent a nude photo of himself and solicited the minor to do the same, he also made arrangements to meet up with the female for sexual relations. Prosser was taken into custody at his home without incident and transported to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office for processing, he was arraigned & was held on $15,000 cash bond.
A new report identifies which States are investing most in manufactured housing as an alternative to existing homes. In New York State, 13.4% of all new single-family houses built were manufactured homes, the 13th highest share in the nation. New York State shipped 1,616 manufactured homes last year, and issued 10,453 permits for single-family site-built homes. Former Oneida County Corrections Officer Christopher Walrath was sentenced to 15 years in State Prison, in connection with the death of inmate Robert Brooks at the Marcy Correctional Facility last December. Walrath had pleaded guilty to Manslaughter as part of a plea bargain deal in Oneida County Court, the plea offer nullifies the original murder charge and results in a lesser prison term, instead of the potential 25 years to life.
Binghamton Police charged 37 year-old Donald Beetlestone with attempted kidnapping, assault, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child, he is accused of striking a young girl with a bottle in a Binghamton Price Chopper on Glenwood Avenue Friday evening and attempted to forcibly remove her from the store. Police reported that a female employee heard the struggle and intervened in an attempt to stop Beetlestone, a male customer physically restrained Beetlestone until police arrived. The unidentified 8 year old victim girl suffered a gash on her forehead as a result of the assault, Beetlestone is being held pending future court action.

Jake Cotten was elected as Unadilla’s new village mayor over challenger Christopher Price in village elections Tuesday, by a vote of 117 to 82. Democrat Paul Baldwin and Republican Joseph Paliotta won trustee seats on the Unadilla Village Board. In Otego, Democrat David Clapper & Republican James Salisbury were elected to the village board.

In Unadilla, 2 men are running for Mayor, Jason Cotten & Christopher Price are seeking the seat, incumbent Jack Insinga declined to seek re-election, also in Unadilla 4 people are seeking 2 seats on the village baord, Republicans Joseph Paliotta & Eric Harkins, and Democrats Paul Baldwin & Dwight Mott are the candidates. In Otego, Republicans James Salisbury & Joseph Stanton are seeking Re-election to the village board, while Democrat David Clapper Jr. is also in the race. Polls are open from Noon until 9:00 PM today.

The American Red Cross & State Police announced that on Tuesday, December 28th, A blood drive will be hosted in memory of Trooper Christopher Skinner, who lost his life by a hit-and-run driver while conducting a traffic stop on I-81 in Broome County.  Blood Supplies are the lowest they have been during the holiday season, in 10 years, appointments are available at RedCrossBlood.org, downloading the free Blood Donor app or by calling 1-800 RED CROSS.  The Drive is being held on the 28th from 12:00 to 6:00 PM at 16 Crescent Drive in Kirkwood, More information is available at 607- 237-9747.
Attorney General Letitia James said that her office has received complaints of price gouging on COVID 19 testing products around the state. A standard test kit at local pharmacies normally costs between $14 and $25 for a package of 2 tests, but some stores have sold the same product unlawfully for $40 up to $70, to report price gouging, go to formsnym.ag.ny.gov.

Federal Prosecutors last month announced charges against three members of the Sex Money Murder gang of the Bronx, which included Corey Brown, Josnel Rodriguez & Christopher Canada, for racketeering, firearms charges, & for the murder of Vincent Davis in July of 2012. Rodriguez & Brown were brought into court, but Canada was on the run from law enforcement, until he was apprehended by US Marshals & Oneonta Police in a Division Street Apartment yesterday afternoon. Canada was apprehended without incident & was returned to New York City to face prosecution.

On Saturday, Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 41 year old Christopher Ross of Franklin, for Driving While Intoxicated, operating an ATV on a public roadway, operating without a helmet, and speed not reasonable and imprudent. This arrest was a result of a motor vehicle accident on Clark Road in the Town of Masonville. Ross was later released on tickets returnable in the Masonville Town Court at a later date.
The Norwich Fire Department reported that Route 12 just south of the City was completely shut down due to a hazard chemical spill earlier this afternoon. The highway had to be closed for several hours for the investigation & clean up; Businesses in area of Price Chopper Plaza have not been accessible since the spill. More details will be released as soon as possible.

Delaware County Sheriffs Department arrested 19-year-old Christopher Whitely, Jr., of Stamford, on a Sealed Grand Jury Indictment Warrant charging him with three counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, for allegedly selling cocaine in Stamford last year. Whitely was additional charged with Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, which he had in a backpack, upon arrest, he was arraigned on the Sealed Indictment in Delaware County Court on Thursday afternoon and was remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.
State Police at Binghamton arrested 27-year-old Amie Bowman of Windsor for Reckless Endangerment. The arrest occurred after a Trooper responded to a Broome County 911 report of a man jumping from a moving vehicle in the Price Shopper parking lot in the Town of Chenango, after his girlfriend drove recklessly after a dispute and would not stop and let him out. Bowman allegedly passed several vehicles recklessly at a high rate of speed and refused to stop on state route 12. Bowman was arraigned in the Town of Chenango Court and remanded to the Broome County Jail with no bail set.
