The Greater Afton Area Chamber of Commerce is holding a "Summer Party" Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at 174 Main Street in Afton. The event will honor 130 years of the Afton Fire Department, there will be food & live music at the event.

Amphenol of Sidney is celebrating 100 years in operation in the village of Sidney, with an Open House on Saturday with a host of activities & exhibits. The day will start at 8:00 with the Spark in the Park 5K race, and then the activities will shift to the new plant, spokesman Chris Cappello explains:

Cappello also wrote a 500 plus page book about the history of the plant in Sidney since it opened 100 years ago in 1925, the event runs from 12:00 to 6:00 PM tomorrow at the main facility at Delaware Avenue in Sidney, it is free & open to the public.

The 100th Anniversary of Amphenol in Sidney will be celebrated with an Open House on Saturday, Amphenol Spokesman Chris Cappello wrote a 500 plus page book about the company's History in Sidney titled "Connecting History, From Scintilla to Amphenol" filled with pictures, artifacts, and dozens of interviews with former & current employees, Cappello talked about the book with WCDO News:

The Open House will be held from 12:00 Noon to 6:00 PM Saturday at the new plant on Delaware Avenue, it will be free & open to the public.

Amphenol of Sidney is celebrating 100 years in operation in the village of Sidney, with an Open House on Saturday July 19th, with a host of activities & exhibits at the Delaware Avenue facility. Amphenol Aerospace will be celebrating their 100th anniversary in Sidney with an open house on Saturday July 19th, they have also decided to have a 5K run or walk on the morning of July 19th, Spokesman Chris Cappello explains:

Registration for the 5K can be found at zippy-reg.com, the Open House at the Amphenol Facility will start at 12:00 Noon on July 19th.

Agri-Mark Incorporated of Vermont has recalled 189 cases of Cabot Creamery 8-ounce premium butter, Consumers should not eat or use the recalled butter, which has an expiration date of September 9th. Agri-Mark officials said that they have recovered 99.5% of the potentially contaminated lot before it was sold to consumers, it was found to contain Coliform bacteria, Cabot products are sold in several states, including in New York.

Broome County Sheriff’s Office & Binghamton Police conducted targeted enforcement last Friday as part of the State Gun Involved Violence Elimination initiative, they performed a total of 19 vehicle stops, among those arrested, 18 year old Isaac Decker of Chenango for speeding, DWI, Reckless Endangerment & several other charges after Decker caused a a 2-car motor vehicle accident at the Court Street roundabout. The Detail also arrested 42 year old Jesten Hyde of Conklin for a variety of drug charges, Hyde was found to possess 23 grams of methamphetamine. The initiative also resulted in drug charges against 38 year old Christopher Pierre of Endicott, for possessing cocaine, methamphetamine and a schedule 2 controlled substance.

The Amphenol Corporation in Sidney is celebrating their 100th anniversary in Sidney this year, with a special open house on July 19th at their facility on Delaware Avenue, Director of Marketing Communication Chris Cappello told WCDO News about the open house:

Binghamton Police announced that 50 year old Scott Mitchell of Binghamton, was extradited from Florida back to Binghamton, Mitchell was wanted regarding the homicides of Daniel McCloe and Marshall VanOven, on February 3rd in Binghamton. Mitchell has been charged with 2 counts of 2nd degree murder, he was arraigned in Binghamton City Court and remanded to the Broome County Jail, anyone with information about the murders should contact Binghamton Police Detectives at (607) 772-7080

State Police arrested 32 year old Alexei Mordwinkin of Port Crane for Menacing, after Troopers were dispatched to Fat Cowboys in the town of Fenton, where Mordwinkin allegedly displayed what appeared to be a handgun at a patron. Troopers located Mordwinkin at his residence and the item he displayed was a BB gun, he was arrested and transported to SP Binghamton where he was processed and issued an appearance ticket to the Fenton Town Court on July 13, 2023.
