The Broome County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking for Veronica Mitchell on an outstanding warrant for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Mitchell is a white female, 5'2" 100 Pounds with brown hair & eyes, anyone with information should go to gobroomecounty.com/sheriff/warrants or call (607) 778-1196.
The Vestal Police Department arrested 43 year old Lori Littler of Vestal on a variety of drug charges. Members of the police department executed a search warrant at Littler’s residence, they seized methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, suboxone, plus Packaging materials & Scales, Littler was remanded to the Broome County Jail to await arraignment.

Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 23 year old Lucian Decker of Pittsfield, for 2nd degree Assault with a weapon, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, plus he was wanted on 2 warrants. Decker was arrested following an investigation into an assault in the Town of Morris on April 7 2022, where he allegedly struck the victim in the head with a lead pipe after an argument, Decker fled the scene & left the state, earlier this month, deputies learned that Decker was back in the area, and was involved in another incident that is still under investigation. Decker was located in the Town of Pittsfield and was taken into custody without incident, he was arraigned & was remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $3,000 cash bail/$30,000 secured bond.

The Broome County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a one-person motorcycle accident with injuries on Interstate Route 81 South between Exits 1 and 2 in the Town of Kirkwood Tuesday. The initial investigation revealed that the motorcyclist was the only individual involved and speed was a factor in the crash. The motorcyclist was transported to Wilson Hospital with serious injuries.
Governor Hochul announced that $20 million in state funding has been awarded to 7 counties and New York City to improve public safety and emergency communications. The funding can be used to install new equipment, enhance public safety radio systems, Locally, Chenango County will get $3 million in funding for a 25 digital radio system to bring multiple agencies into a single radio system.
The Broome County Sheriff’s Office and SUNY Broome have partnered on a program to begin introducing community college “life skills” curriculum to incarcerated men and women at the Broome County Correctional Facility. The pilot program consists of five, 1-hour weekly classes taking place over five weeks, offered in both a male and a female housing pod. Undersheriff Sam Davis is the instructor for each class, he previously served as the Director of Training for the Broome County Sheriff’s Office and taught several criminal justice courses at SUNY Broome over the past 8 years.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a reported 2 car motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Thompson Hollow Road and Jensen Road in the Town of Middletown Monday. Initial reports stated that 1 vehicle was on fire and the 2nd vehicle contained an entrapped person within. 2 good Samaritans heard the collision and went to the scene, they were able to extinguish the fire and provide first aid to both drivers until the arrival of first responders. 41 year old John Todd of Roxbury, was pronounced deceased at the scene, 65 year old Daniel Plummer of East Branch was extricated, he was airlifted to Albany Medical Center by Life Net and is currently in critical condition. The Sheriff’s Accident Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene to investigate the cause of the accident,
The State Department of Labor released preliminary local area unemployment rates for April. The State's area unemployment decreased 1/10th to 4.0% in April, Chenango County had 2.5% unemployment in April, Delaware County had 2.9% & Otsego County had 2.8%.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s National enforcement effort is underway, it coincides with the Memorial Day holiday, & runs until June 4th, According to the Traffic Safety Administration, in 2021 there were 11,813 unbuckled passenger vehicle occupants killed in crashes in the United States, 57% of passenger vehicle occupants killed at night were not wearing their seat belts. Qualified candidates who will be 18 years of age and who will have either a high school diploma or GED before the end of the exam submission period of June 30th, can apply for the exam until tomorrow through the Delaware County Personnel Office, the application can be found at: delcony.us.

Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 32 year old Brent Falkenmeyer of Deposit. On Tuesday afternoon in Unadilla, Deputies & State Police, located and arrested Brent Falkenmeyer who had an active arrest warrant out of the Town of Deposit court for Failure to Register a Change of address as a Sex Offender. Falkenmeyer was arraigned in Town of Deposit Court, he was released on his own recognizance & will return to court at a later date.
The Delaware County District Attorney's Office announced that 41 year old Vincent Rispoli of Delhi pleaded guilty to DWI in Delaware County Court. Rispoli admitted to driving while intoxicated on November 20 of 2021 in the town of Delhi he was sentenced to 3 years of probation supervision, he must complete the adult treatment Court program, his license is revoked & he must install interlock devices on all his vehicles.
The Broome County District Attorney's Office announced that Joel Valdes-Pica of Binghamton was sentenced to 6 years in New York State prison after pleading guilty to Attempted Robbery in the 2nd Degree. In December of 2021, Valdes-Pica assaulted someone making a deposit at the M&T Bank ATM on Exchange Street and stole over $1,000, he also has a prior felony conviction for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree from 2014.
