A Federal Court Jury returned a guilty verdict against ANTHONY WALLACE of the Bronx, for kidnapping a minor, coercion and enticement of a minor to engage in illegal sex, transportation of a minor across state lines to engage in illegal sex, and possession and production of child pornography. In March 2024, Wallace met a 15-year-old girl in Binghamton, he subjected the Minor Victim to escalating physical, sexual, and psychological abuse, forced her to disguise her appearance by dyeing her hair and wearing a mask, gave the Minor Victim methamphetamine and marijuana, & created child pornography of the Minor Victim, in Binghamton, which was found on his phone. Wallace later brought the victim across State Lines and then back to his Bronx apartment where he assaulted & raped her, she escaped the apartment & contacted police. Wallace faces multiple lengthy jail terms for the convictions.

The US Marines announced that their Toys for Tots New York Holiday Train will go through the Southern Tier this Saturday, starting at the East Binghamton Yard, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, it will then head to Bainbridge at the Walnut Avenue Crossing, at about 11:50 AM, there will be free donuts, hot chocolate, kids' activities, music, giveaways, and more. The train will also stop at the Gas Avnue crossing in Oneonta, before heading for Cobleskill, and Delanson Saturday afternoon.
The Sidney American Legion will have their annual Kids Christmas Party on Saturday, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at 22 Union Street. Children that attend will see a Magic Show, receive Goodie Bags & Lunch and they will have A visit from Santa.

A Windsor man is facing felony charges after attempting to break into a residence and being tracked down in the snow by Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies in the Town of Chenango. On Tuesday evening, Road Patrol responded to a burglar alarm on Russell Road, members noticed that the back door of the residence had been forced open, they eventually found footprints in the snow, they found 42 year old Scott Evanchof of Windsor wearing boots that matched the footprints, he admitted that he attempted to break into the residence & was charged with Burglary & Criminal Mischief, he was arraigned Following arraignment, Evanchof was remanded to the Broome County Correctional Facility, where he is currently in custody.

Train Traffic Along the Mohawk River Corridor has come to a halt today, following a freight train derailment in the town of Amsterdam. State Route 5 has been closed down as well to allow for easy access by emergency personnel. the clean up is ongoing & they hope to have train travel running again as soon as possible.
37 year old Michael Salamey of Frankfort appeared in Delaware County Court Wednesday & a 2 Count Indictment was unsealed Salamey was charged with Grand Larceny for allegedly stealing over $360,000, by entering into a contract to improve property in the Town of Roxbury. The Indictment said that the owner of the property paid Salamey the money to install a septic system, underground electric utilities, foundations, and small homes & that the work was not performed & her stopped communicating with the property owner. Salamey was released & a conference is scheduled in Delaware County Court on August 21st.

University Student Hailey Anderson in Binghamton. Tercero was found guilty earlier this month
on a charge of "Femicide" after he killed Hailey Anderson in his

the worst performance was Delaware County, which had a decrease of 4.3% since
the beginning of the year.

The Capital Region Toys for Tots Foundation today announced its distribution plans for the 2018 holiday season, to deliver thousands of toys and winter coats to children in need throughout Upstate New York. Governor Cuomo announced that more than $9.7 million has been awarded to 12 Southern Tier municipalities through Round 5 of the Restore New York Communities Initiative. State Senator Jim Seward joined in the dedication Saturday of the historic Andes Train Depot and announced a $75,000 state grant he secured to help with restoration costs. The capital funding through the State and Municipal Facilities Program has been used to help fund the restoration of the Delaware and Northern Railroad Depot building, it is now the starting point of the Andes Rail Trail.
The New York State Health Department today announced that the more than 2.8 million people signed up for health insurance through the end of the 2016 open enrollment period on January 31, 2016. The data show that enrollment in the Marketplace increased by 33 percent, or nearly 700,000 enrollees from the previous enrollment period; 92 percent of those enrolled through the Marketplace report that they did not have health insurance at the time they applied.
State Office of General Services Commissioner RoAnn Destito today announced that OGS is hosting a free training seminar meant to familiarize local governments, schools, and nonprofit organizations with the use of new state contracts. State Parole Officers & Broome County Sheriff’s department arrested 5 people on various drug & weapons charges Thursday at the Econo Lodge in the town of Dickinson. Arrested were 38 year old Terrance Brown of Dickinson., 27 year old Patrese Reid of Brooklyn, 24 year old Lauren Steckler of Binghamton, 23 year odl Breeanna Ortiz of Afton & 25 year old Gabrielle Bohn-Blodgett of Binghamton.
