The State Girl's Wrestling Tournament was held at the MVP Arena in Albany Thursday, Sidney High School Sophomore Bella Phelps took 1st Place Honors in the 114 pound weight class, beating her opponent 11 to 1 in the Championship Match. Sophomore Wrestler Cadence Guy of the Walton Delhi Team finished in 4th place in the 100 pound weight class. The 2 Day Boys State Wrestling Tournament begins today in Albany.

Sidney 7th grader Isabella Phelps competed in the first ever New York State High School Girls Wrestling Tournament on Friday in Syracuse. She finished a 3rd overall in her weight class of 107 pounds. Bella's record was 5-1 for the one day event and she avenged her only loss by beating the same wrestler in the 3rd place match.
