Citizen Advocates of Malone & Joshua House of Sidney
announced a new partnership that will ensure that individuals with variety of
abilities achieve the life of their choosing.
Joshua House Executive Director Delsa McEwan said that there will be no
adverse changes to the Sidney facilities:

Joshua House currently operates 4 homes, the partnership
allows their programs to overcome the financial realities from shrinking
reimbursements, by tapping into the efficiencies and depth of resources Citizen
Advocates has to offer.  The new

Afton Central School's Adult & Continuing Education

The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce will hold its September 1st Friday Eat & Meet on Friday, at 8:30 a.m., at the Sidney Elks Club, on River Street in Sidney. The featured speaker for the event is Bill Wagner, Director of Mobility Management of South Central New York, in partnership with Rural Health Network of South Central New York. The Otsego County Sheriff's Office reported that 24 year old Ryan Sutcliffe of Cumberland, Rhode Island was sleeping in his tent when a large tree limb, broke off & landed on him, at about 12:45 AM Saturday at the Grand Slam Camp Ground on County Highway 18 in the town of Morris. Sutcliffe was taken to Chenango County Memorial Hospital in Norwich where he was declared deceased. The investigation is continuing.

The Board of Directors of the Afton Fair has developed an online poll that will be available through September 30. The purpose of the poll is to find out what fairgoers would like to see at 125th Afton Fair in 2014.  The poll is available at theaftonfair.com,  more information is available at 639-1525.

Governor Cuomo announced a new program under Charge NY to accelerate the market adoption of electric vehicles and to make EV infrastructure easier to use and more economically viable in New York.  The Electric Vehicle-Enabling Technology Demonstration Program offers $2 million to fund research and demonstration projects for electric vehicles. The program aims to create a statewide network of up to 3,000 charging stations over the next 5 years.  Proposals for the Program are due October 22.   More information is available at nyserda.ny.gov (http://www.nyserda.ny.gov/PON2755).

A “Lunch and Learn” Energy Workshop for businesses and not-for-profit organizations will be offered on April 17th by Commerce Chenango from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., at the Northeast Classic Car Museum in Norwich.  The workshop will provide an overview of the programs and incentives available to businesses and not-for-profit organizations to help them save money on their building and fleet energy expenses.   Pre-register for the workshop is suggested at RenewChenangoCounty.org or at 1-866-495-2959.
