The Binghamton Black Bears announced an agreement to play at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena through the 2026 season, The Black Bears set a Federal Prospects Hockey League record in attendance with 107,000 fans over the course of the 2022-2023 season. The Black Bears will open up the 2023-2024 season on October 13 against the Elmira.

Greater Oneonta Historical Society & Otsego 2000 are sponsoring a Walking Tour of downtown Oneonta on Saturday. The tour will focus on opportunities and threats in the Oneonta Downtown Historic District, which the State Preservation League has named to its bi-annual “7 To Save” list. The tour will leave from the Oneonta History Center at 183 Main Street at 3:00 PM and is by donation. In case of inclement weather, the tour will be held on Sunday.

The American Legion of Bainbridge is sponsoring a Flu Shot Clinic today at the Bainbridge Town Hall. The clinic will run from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Governor Kathy Hochul today announced $387 million is being delivered to 1,452 local governments across the New York State to help boost their pandemic response infrastructure. The announcement is part of the State's ongoing preparation efforts to tackle any potential pandemic-related surges this fall and winter. This financial backing is made possible by the Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund, part of the American Rescue Plan Act, which provides relief for smaller local governments who have shared in the public health response. The amount local governments will receive is available at budget.ny.gov.

The Binghamton Black Bears announced today that the club has named Gary Gill as the new head coach for the 2022-23 season. Gill joins the Black Bears after being the head coach and general manager of the Vermont Lumberjacks in the Eastern Hockey League. Gill has over 400 wins & 9 years of experience coaching professional hockey.

The American Hockey Board of Governors announced that they have moved the anticipated start date of the next season on February 5th 2021, due to the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic.  Further details about the next season will be announced at a later date.

New York State Health Department reported Sunday that they have 337,055 Coronavirus cases, Hospitalizations continue to decline, with about 7200 people being treated statewide,  161 people died on Sunday,  the state death total is now 21,640.

American Hockey League announced today that the League’s Board of Governors has voted to cancel the remainder of the 2019-20 AHL regular season and the 2020 Calder Cup Playoffs due to the ongoing COVID-19 public health crisis.  The Binghamton Devils announced that ticket questions can be found at binghamtondevils.com/tickets.

Families in the Gilbertsville-Mount Upton Central School District are invited to pick up FREE dairy products at the school from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM this Wednesday, May 13th.  Free gallons of milk, yogurt, cheese, ice cream and eggs will be available while supplies last at GMU on State Highway 51, in Gilbertsville.  A drive-through distribution process has been set up & Residents are asked to stay in their vehicles until they are prompted to receive their products.  The Dairy Farmers of America Cooperative has teamed up with Dean Foods, the American Dairy Association North East, Chobani, Cabot, Hershey’s and Huff to offer these FREE dairy products on Wednesday.

The
Chenango County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution to implement a 4%
occupancy "Bed" tax in Chenango County. The new Law will provide a
dedicated funding stream to promote and develop the tourism industry in
Chenango County and to reduce pressure on the property tax levy.  Chenango County has been one of just a few
counties in New York State that had not previously collected a bed tax.   Tourism is New York’s 3rd largest industry,
hosting 253 million visitors annually who spend 71.8 billion at NYS businesses
creating 114.8 billion in economic impact.

The New
York State Public High School Athletic Association announced that regional
& state championships will be postponed indefinitely.  The impacted events include Ice Hockey, Bowling
& the Boys & Girls Basketball regional & State Championships.  Officials announced the postponements were
due to the reports of the Corona Virus outbreaks across the state, to insure
the safety & health of the student athletes.

The St.
Baldrick’s Foundation will host head-shaving events tomorrow at the American
Legion in Norwich, where over 30 volunteers will shave their heads to raise
money for childhood cancer research.
The Norwich St. Baldrick’s event routinely raises over $30,000 a year,
their event starts at 6:00 PM, it is free and open to the public, more

The
American Hockey League announced the suspension of play until further notice
due to the COVID-19 health and safety concerns of players, officials, staff and
fans.  The Binghamton Devils will post
pertinent ticketing information to social media, as well as send email updates
directly to season ticket members, sponsors and group buyers. More information

The American Hockey League announced today that the league’s Board of Governors has approved the following division alignment and schedule format for the 2017-18 AHL season. The Binghamton Devils have been assigned to the "North Division” traditional Binghamton rivals will include the Rochester Americans, Syracuse Crunch, & Utica Comets.

The American Hockey League will still have a team located in Binghamton following the recent announcement that the Ottawa Senators were moving their franchise out of Binghamton to Belleville Ontario Canada. Binghamton Senators executive Vice President or Operations Tom Mitchell commented at a press conference this afternoon:

Mitchell said that it took almost a year to make the switch in franchises happen, the league board of Governors approved moving the Devils to Binghamton from Albany unanimously at their meeting Sunday.

The Ottawa Senators have announced their American Hockey League development team will be moving from Binghamton to Belleville, Ontario Canada beginning in the 2017-18 season. Binghamton Senators Executive Vice President Tom Mitchell said that the Ottawa decision to relocate has no impact on the future of the AHL's presence in the Southern Tier:

Mitchell said that another team will be brought to Binghamton, but that announcement cannot be made at this time. The last season as the Binghamton Senators will begin with Opening Night on Saturday, October 15th.

The Binghamton Senators, American Hockey League affiliate of the Ottawa Senators, announced its roster for Opening Night this Saturday against the Worcester Sharks. The B-Sens opening night team will consist of 23 players, with many of last year's favorites returning according to team president Tom Mitchell:

State Troopers arrested 25-year-old John Posson of Norwich for 3rd degree Assault, following a complaint by a woman that claimed that she was punched in her right eye, during a fight at the American Legion in South Otselic. Posson was released with a ticket returnable to the Town of Otselic Court on October 13th.

The Broadway Theater League presents the first play of the season at the Forum Theater in Binghamton. "Jekyll & Hyde" will have 2 performances at the forum Sunday at 3:00 and 7:30 PM; more information is available at Broadway in Binghamton.com. The America Cancer Society's Annual Harvest Festival takes place tomorrow at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Walton. The Binghamton Senators announced Tuesday, it has reached an agreement with its parent National Hockey League club, the Ottawa Senators, to remain their American Hockey League affiliate. The agreement will keep the B-Sens the top affiliate for Ottawa through the next five seasons. Ottawa, who has been affiliated with Binghamton since AHL hockey returned in 2002.

The Binghamton Senators, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, announced today the full 2014-15 regular season schedule, which will see the B-Sens open their season against the Worcester Sharks in front of their home crowd, at the Floyd L.
