The 6th Ward Booster Club of Oneonta is bringing back the "Tennis Court Dance" events held many years ago, John Nader is one of the organizers & he told WCDO News about bringing this old tradition back:

September is Suicide awareness Month, and 2 events will be coming this month to raise awareness & raise funds to combat the continuing suicide problem. Karen Heisig is the Director of the Greater New York Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, she talked about how people can get involved in the cause:

The Otsego County Department of Health reported another potential COVID 19 exposure, at the 6th Ward Athletic Club, at 22 West Broadway in Oneonta, where a bartender tested positive for COVID-19. Anyone who visited the bar on Saturday January 9th between 12:00 Noon to 6:00 PM or Sunday January 10th from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 PM should monitor for symptoms for 14 days, those who develop symptoms should get tested and isolate immediately. The 6th Ward will close today to clean and disinfect & they will open when it is safe to do so.

Sidney Village Officials & architects held a forum & open house for the community at the SIdney Library last night, to get input on preliminary plans to turn Main Street into a "Green Street" with an underground reservoir, new sidewalks, trees and increased lighting. State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli released a report showing that Overtime pay at state agencies jumped for the 6th straight year to a record $716 million in 2015 – up nearly $55 million from the year before. The majority of overtime use was concentrated in three agencies: the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, the Department of Corrections, and the Office of Mental Health accounted for 65.3 percent of the overtime hours.

Governor Cuomo announced that 76West is now accepting applications for innovative, clean-energy businesses to locate or create jobs in the Southern Tier. The competition includes 4 years of annual $1 million grand prizes, to create jobs, attract entrepreneurs and support the Governor's Reforming the Energy Vision strategy.
