State Police responded to a motorcycle crash with an injury on State Highway 7 in the town of Worcester Tuesday. 27 year old Jacob Sprague of Otego was traveling on Route 7 in the town of Worcester when he exited the roadway and struck a utility pole. Sprague was assisted by civilians in the area until EMS arrived. Sprague was transported by Lifenet to Albany Medical Center for further treatment. The investigation is on-going.

Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 54 year old Shelley Wilkerson of Worcester for Overdriving, torturing and injuring animals and failure to provide sustenance following an investigation into a report of an elderly Great Dane that was dying or deceased at Wilkerson's residence. Deputies found the Great Dane was located outside, the Investigation revealed that Wilkerson allegedly failed to provide proper veterinary care to the dog, which resulted in the dog's death. Wilkerson was arrested and was issued an Appearance Ticket to Town of Worcester Court at a later date.

Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 46 year old Lloyd Davis of Worcester, for Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, 1st & 2nd degree Rape, Sexual Abuse & Endangering the Welfare of a Child, following an investigation of persistent abuse, which revealed that Davis allegedly subjected minors to physical and sexual abuse over the course of several years. Davis was taken into custody without incident. A search warrant was executed at the residence and evidence was secured. Additional search warrants were executed at a location in the Town of Maryland where additional evidence was located. Davis was processed, arraigned & was remanded to the Otsego County Correctional Facility without bail.

The Otsego County Sheriff's Office & The State Comptroller's Office announced the arrest of 37 year old Johnathan Kersman of Worcester, who was charged with Grand Larceny. The Joint Investigation accuses Kersman of misappropriation of funds while serving as the Town of Decatur Supervisor from the Town Budget. Kersman allegedly paid himself an additional salary from the town budget that he did not have approval from the board to do so, in the amount of about $2,000. Deputies located Kersman Thursday at his residence where he was taken into custody without incident, he was processed and released with an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Decatur Court at a later date.

Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 25 year old Christopher Roettger of Worcester, for 1st degree Assault & Criminal Possession of a Weapon, following an investigation into a stabbing during a domestic incident. Roettger fled the scene and responding deputies located a victim suffering from multiple stab wounds inside the residence, who was taken to Bassett Hospital, Roettger returned to the scene to turn himself in, he was taken into custody without incident. Investigators applied for and were granted a search warrant for the residence and the defendant’s vehicle where additional evidence was secured. The Otsego County District Attorney’s Office recommended that bail be set at $100,000 cash, Roettger was processed and lodged in the Otsego County Correctional Facility pending Arraignment. An order of protection was requested on behalf of the victim. The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the New York State Police Forensic Investigation Unit.

Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 58 year old Michael Mollo of Worcester, for DWI, Obstructing Governmental Administration, Reckless Driving, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Motor Vehicle Accident, as well as a host of other related charges, following an investigation into a property damage accident in the Town of Worcester. Mollo was found to be intoxicated and arrested, he was processed and released and is set to appear in court at a later date.

Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 48 year old Paula Carbonara of Worcester, for Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Criminal Contempt, and Harassment, following a burglary in progress complaint in the Town of Worcester. Deputies were dispatched to a residence after receiving reports that a female subject was trying to gain entry, deputies found that the female had made entry into the residence but fled on foot, Carbonara was located and taken into custody& was held for Arraignment.

Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 27 year old Keegan Allen of Worcester following a Jail Contraband Investigation. Deputies responded Sunday to the Delaware County Correctional Facility when Investigators discovered prescription strength muscle relaxers within the Facility during a search. Allen was arrested for Promoting Prison Contraband, he was arraigned and was remanded back to the Delaware County Correctional Facility on his original charge.

State Police arrested 60 Year Old Christopher Rayford of Worcester Tuesday Night, following a physical domestic dispute involving a firearm. Troopers were dispatched to County Road 39 in Worcester, they determined that after physically assaulting a victim, Rayford destroyed property within the home and shot several rounds into the ceiling. Rayford is also accused of taking the victim’s cell phone and preventing the victim from calling for help. Troopers took Rayford into custody and the victim was checked out by Worcester EMS for injuries on scene but did not wish to be transported to a local hospital. Rayford has been charged with Reckless Endangerment, Strangulation, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Assault, Menacing & Criminal Mischief, he was processed and was transported to the Otsego County Correctional Facility for centralized arraignment.

Crews in the Village of Bainbridge repaired a broken water main break on West Main Street this morning. Water was shut off in the area of the break for a few hours, the water was turned back on & affected village residents do NOT have to boil water.

Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 28 year old Ladrina Graham of Worcester for Overdriving, Torturing and Injuring Animals; 6 counts of Failure to Provide Sustenance plus Criminal Possession of a Weapon. Graham was arrested following a complaint of an injured dog in the town of Worcester, after filing for a search warrant and finding a deceased dog and 5 living dogs in unsanitary conditions, Graham was arrested, processed and released on an appearance ticket returnable to Town of Worcester Court at a later date. The deceased dog was sent to Cornell University for a necropsy and further charges are pending at this time.

Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 37 year old William Killenberger of East Worcester for Criminal Mischief, Aggravated Harassment, Endangering the welfare of a child & resisting Arrest following an investigation into a domestic dispute in East Worcester. Killenberger is accused of damaging property during the course of the dispute and then fled the scene prior to law enforcement's arrival. An arrest warrant was applied for and he was located, While attempting to take the suspect into custody, he began fighting with Deputies and was subsequently taken into custody, he was processed and later turned over to the Otsego County Jail for arraignment.

The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office arrested 37 year old William Killenberger of Worcester on multiple charges of Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Investigators received information that Killenberger was in possession of firearms at his residence in East Worcester, After execution of the search warrant, multiple firearms were located with corresponding ammunition. Killenberger was previously in custody following an unrelated incident and was processed and was then lodged in the Otsego County Correctional Facility to await Centralized Arraignment. Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 68 year old Frederick Pangburn of Schoharie for 2 counts of Grand Larceny, following an investigation in to a report of possible extortion. Pangburn allegedly threatened to post intimate photographs of a victim online if he was not given the victim’s vehicle and additional cash, he was located in Worcester and taken in to custody & was being held at the Otsego County Correctional Facility to await Centralized Arraignment. A request for an order of protection was made on behalf of the victim.

The Otsego County Office of Emergency Services announced that they have sent personnel to assist in the fighting of the Catskills area wildfires in Ulster, Sullivan & Orange Counties. Otsego County deployed 5 Hand-crews, totaling 25 firefighters, to assist in Greenwood Lake, with fire fighters from Milford, Otego, Unadilla, & West Laurens Fire Departments, as well as Otsego County Emergency Services Deputy Fire Coordinator Jeremy Hilton. An extended appreciation is warranted to the Cherry Valley, Garrattsville, Gilbertsville, Morris, Mount Vision, Richfield Springs, West Exeter & Worcester Fire Departments for also offering additional personnel for deployment.

Several Area Fire Departments responded to a Chimney Fire at 9 Ceperley Avenue in Oneonta early this morning. The Fire was reported shortly before 4:30 AM this morning, with fire on the 1st & 2nd floor, coming through the roof, mutual aid was received by the Oneonta Fire Department from West Oneonta, Worcester, Sidney, Franklin, Milford, Laurens & Otego, at about 5:30 AM, the Fire knocked down, the investigation into the cause of the fire in ongoing.

The City of Oneonta Fire and Police Departments are currently investigating a fire that occurred at 47 Chestnut Street Thursday afternoon. Emergency responders were called to the scene at approximately 1:03 PM, finding smoke showing from a second story window above the Oneonta Theatre. A single fatality has been reported and the identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The Oneonta Fire and Police Departments were assisted by the West Oneonta, Otego, Franklin, Sidney, Cooperstown, and Worcester Fire Departments; the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 43 year old Jonathan Hynes of Stamford on an Arrest Warrant for 2nd Degree Assault following an investigation by the Otsego County Sheriff's Office for an incident that occurred in Worcester. On September 5th, Otsego County Sheriff’s Deputies contacted and requested assistance from the Delaware County Sheriff's Office in locating a vehicle and driver which were involved in a hit and run motor vehicle accident and an assault, Delaware County Deputies were able to locate the vehicle and Hynes, he was arrested & was turned over to the Otsego County Sheriff''s Office.

The State Department of Transportation is advising motorists to expect traffic crossovers and lane reductions between exits 18 and 19 on Interstate 88 in the towns of Maryland and Worcester, for pavement rehabilitation work, starting today through October 31st. Eastbound motorists will be crossed over to the westbound side and traffic will be reduced one lane in each direction separated by a concrete barrier.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies were notified of an assault May 4th on Sherwood Road, 2 people sustained injuries as a result of the assault. Police arrested 3 SUNY Delhi students on assault charges, 19-year-old Kevin Bruns of Staten Island and 18-year-old Christopher Healy of Staten Island allegedly punched a victim in the face, Additionally, Healy, Bruns, and 21-year-old Moises Vilatoro of Huntington Station intentionally caused physical injury to another person during the same altercation, causing head contusions that required treatment at an area hospital. Bruns, Healy, and Villatoro face court action in Delhi Town Court on May 28th.

State Troopers are looking for the owner of a brown dog that was found in East Worcester last week, and they need to find the person who castrated the dog. The male dog is all brown with white paws. He is believed to be approximately 5 years old, he was located last week by Good Samaritans on State Highway 7 in the East Worcester area. He was taken to a vet in the Latham area and stabilized. He was later transferred to the Susquehanna SPCA where he is recuperating. Anyone with information is asked to call the New York State Police at (607)561-7400.

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced that major construction has begun on a $21.8 million project along a stretch of I-88 from Exit 18 in the town of Maryland to Exit 19 in the town of Worcester. The $21.8 million project will resurface 8.4 miles of pavement, Additionally, minor work will take place on the bridges over South Hill Road, and rehabilitation work will be done on 16 small culverts.
