Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 30 year old Nicholas Kahl of Middle Island following an investigation of a larceny complaint. On March 22nd, Deputies were dispatched to a complaint in Hamden, it was discovered that Kahl allegedly stole a tractor from a property without the owner’s consent. Deputies arrested Kahl for Grand Larceny, he was transported to the Delaware County Correctional Facility to await Arraignment.

State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli announced that Wall Street’s securities industry bonus pool reached a record $49.2 billion in 2025, up 9% from the previous year, while the average bonus rose 6% to $246,900. The increases reflect a rise of more than 30% in Wall Street’s profits, which totaled $65.1 billion in 2025. The Chenango County Historical Society was recently awarded a donation by the Stewart’s Holiday Match program totaling $1,250, to support activities designed to share local history with children and families. Chenango County Historical Society collaborates with other community organizations to develop program offerings, including the Afton Arts & Crafts Festival, Colorscape Chenango, Chenango County Open Farm Day, Lt. Warren E. Eaton Airport Day and the YMCA Healthy Kids Day, among many others.

The Cooperstown Boys Basketball Team was crowned as the New York State Class C Champions Sunday after defeating “BERNE KNOX-WESTERLOW” 52 TO 43 in the title game at the Arena in Binghamton. Delaware County District Attorney Shawn Smith announced an 8 count indictment Friday has been filed against 54 year old Joseph Bellows of Downsville, from the crash that occurred in Hancock on July 17th, that resulted in the death of East Branch Assistant Fire Chief Jason McGlone. Troop C Commanding Officer Major Lucas Shuta recounted the incident at Friday' Press Conference:

Long time General Clinton Canoe Regatta Paddler Dale Persons is one of the inductees into this year's Hall of Fame, he talked about winning the honor to WCDO Sports Director Nate Lull:

Dale has 31 70-mile finishes, 3 70-mile wins, and a career best 5th place Pro finish, he is a two-time national champion with wins in 1994 and 1995 alongside Hall of Famer Bob Zaveral. He also has been active in the race committee and has announced many awards and races in the past. State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli's auditors found that New York state bought hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of medical equipment at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, that now sits unused in storage facilities. To compete for the purchase of the medical equipment at the start of the pandemic, Then Governor Cuomo took emergency steps to accelerate the procurement process, inconsistent with Office of General Services guidance. DiNapoli's auditors determined the state paid $452.8 million to purchase 247,343 Medical items & machines, only 324 of those items were distributed, the audit recommends that the state distribute the items to hospitals & medical providers who may be able to use them, and stop paying for excessive storage fees for those items.

The Norwich Police Department has arrested 20 year old Wyatt Gould of Plymouth following a Grand Jury indictment. Gould was charged with 2nd degree Manslaughter, Vehicular manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, driving while impaired by drugs, reckless driving and other charges, Gould is accused of operated an SUV on January 1st on Cortland Street, while under the influence of drugs, he went onto the sidewalk & fatally struck 68 year old James Wright of Norwich, who was out for a morning walk, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

WCDO Sports Director Nate Lull traveled to Binghamton on Saturday to cover the Division-1 Binghamton University Women's Basketball team hosting U-Albany. Hancock alumna Laycee Drake plays for Albany and always has great support from local fans when her team plays close to home. Nate caught up with Laycee after the game to ask her what it's like to play in front of family and friends:
