The Delaware County Board of Elections announced that the ballot drop box previously outside the Board of Elections Office at 97 Main Street in Delhi, has been removed. Officials stated that It was taken down by maintenance in response to a directive from the chair of the Board of Supervisors, Tina Mole, citing security issues and a contentious election. Anyone who received an absentee or early vote by mail ballot who prefers not to return it by mail can deliver it to the Board of Elections office during normal business hours, from 8:30AM to 4:00 PM, and during some extended hours during early voting being held at our Delhi Office, October 28 through November 3. Absentee/early mail ballots can also be delivered to any poll site on Election Day, November 5th.

John "JB" Bayne has announced his departure as the General Manager of the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets. Team Officials said that Bayne will be replaced on an interim basis by Richard Tylicki, and the search for a new General Manager will begin immediately.

Election Night Results are coming in, The State Board of Elections stated that in the State Supreme Court 6th District, Republican Cheryl Insinga was the winner by a 49 to 46% margin, The Delaware County Board of Elections announced that unofficially, in the town of Sidney race, Kevin Greene & Paul Muratore are the winners of 2 seats, The Chenango County Board of Elections stated that unofficially, in the Town of Guilford Superviser race, Sue McIntyre defeated 2 other candidates.

Delaware County Board of Elections confirmed the Primary Election Results from Tuesday. In the Republican Primary for Distrit Attorney, Shawn Smith recevied 1,684 votes, while Joe Ermeti received 1,088, there were 2 write in votes.

The Delaware County Board of Elections confirmed that, following yesterday's public hearing, a republican party primary will be held in the race for District Attorney. Joe Ermeti of Sidney will face acting District Attorney Shawn Smith in the primary on June 27th.

The Commissioners of the Delaware County Board of Elections will hold a public meeting at their offices at 97 Main Street, Suite 5, in Delhi as 12:00 Noon. The Commissioners are expected to make a final determination on the validity of the petition for District Attorney candidate Joe Ermeti, who is seeking the Republican Party nomination, if his petition is approved, he will face acting DA Shawn Smith in a Republican Party Primary on June 27th.

State Attorney General Letitia James released a report on the role of online platforms like 4chan & Twitch in the Buffalo mass shooting at a Tops grocery store where 10 Black individuals were killed and 3 others were injured. James' Office reviewed thousands of pages of documents and social media content to examine how the alleged shooter Payton Gendron of Conklin used online platforms to plan, prepare, and publicize his attack. The report also said that the platforms lacked of oversight, transparency, and accountability in allowing hateful and extremist views to proliferate, leading to radicalization and violence. Gendron faces numerous state & federal charges in connection with the shooting, and could face the death penalty if convicted on the federal charges.

Delaware County Board of Elections announced that Eric Wilson won the town of Sidney Supervisor write in race, with 313 votes, to 191 for Kevin Greene; there were 22 votes for various other write in candidates.

The Friends of Afton announced the return of Afton’s Annual Christmas Parade, scheduled for Saturday December 4th at 5:00 pm. Floats and vehicles will line up at Corporate Park off Route 7, Walking groups, bicycles, and golf carts will gather at the Afton Edge Apartments.

Yesterday was Election Day, The Delaware County Board of Elections did not announce a winner for the Sidney Town Supervisor’s race, between write-in candidates Eric Wilson & Kevin Greene, Officials told WCDO News it will take days or maybe even weeks to count & certify all of the write in votes across all 19 towns from this year's elections, there were 552 write in Votes Tuesday in Sidney Town Supervisors race. The winners for the Sidney Town board were Frank Selleck & Bill Heath, in the Town of Meredith, Town Council winners were John Janiszewski & David Briggs, the Town of Franklin Board seats go to Garret Sitts & Heather Ross, the town of Middletown Supervisor Will be Patrick Davis, the Town of Tompkins Clerk was Michelle Phoenix, in the Town Of Delhi, the supervisor will be Mark Tuttle, the Town Council winners were Margaret Baldwin & Matthew Kryston & the Walton Town Supervisor will be Joseph Cetta. In Chenango County, Sheriff Ernest Cutting was re-elected, The County Clerk winner is Brian Wessels, & the winners for the Norwich City Council are Fred Gee, William Loomis, Tom Revoir & Barry Christopherson. The winners for the Guilford Town Board were Thomas Ives & Matthew Retz, in Otsego County, the Board of Representatives winners were Ed Frazier, Jerry Madsen, Rick Brockway, Margaret Kennedy, Jennifer Mickle, Charles Varney, Keith McCarty, Clark Oliver & Donald Scanlon & the Town of Oneonta Supervisor will be Randall Mowers, while Karen Liddle & Sean Farrell Won the 2 Town of Oneonta Justice seats & Kimberly Fierke & Skylar Thompson Win the 2 Seats on the Oneonta Town Board. State Police responded to a crash between a motorcycle and vehicle on Conklin Road/ State Route 7 in the town of Conklin. The operator of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased on scene, he has been identified as 21 year old Tristan Thor of Vestal. The investigation indicates that 44 year old Seth Delvillano of Binghamton was traveling north on Conklin Road when he crossed over into the southbound lane and struck the motorcycle head-on, the investigation is on-going.
